Yeah, as far as Atlanta airport vs. Chattanooga airport it's a toss-up. If you're coming in around rush hour times the Chattanooga might be a better bet if the prices are similar. I'd totally pick whichever one was cheaper. I can get from my house (20 mins South of our event site) to Chattanooga in 1 to 1.5 hours. So not bad at all.

**Please note that traffic in Atlanta on Fridays only dies down for a few hours in the middle of the day. We're used to it, but some out of town folks aren't. :eek The traffic jam type of driving is early morning till around 9 and from about 4-7.

Yeah, I just drove from nearish the campsite to another part of town that at 9am took 30 minutes, but took an hour at 1:30pm. :P

As for registering - DO IT. There are always people that register and cancel for a gazillion reasons. Plus, as said, we have a chance of getting more space. :shifty For those international you should know in enough time to still get good airfare prices one way or the other.

And a note on the MARTA railway from the airport. It does not come north up I-75 any further than Midtown/Downtown Atlanta. The northernmost line goes up 400 which is a smaller interstate to the east of where you want to be going north. You could still possibly take it up to Midtown, but you'd have to find a rental place near the station you are getting off. So for convenience sake, it may be easier to rent at the airport.

Khisanth Sedai I would probably take the train to Sandy Springs or Dunwoody and rent from there. Doing a quick Google Maps set of directions means taking Paper Mill Road to 75 is actually 5 minutes shorter than driving down the highway again and going back North to where 285 meets 75. I guess I just spent a lot of time driving around the NW suburbs of Atlanta when I lived there. I think I prefer it over the highways, but that is just my preference.

The site is directly off of I75. There are hotels all over off of the highway, but you'll probably want to go a bit South of the site to get one. I don't remember how many there are North of the site between GA and TN. I mean, I know there are a couple, but I don't remember if they are skanky or not. :P

Being around too many people for too long makes me cry no matter how much I love them. The anxiety just gets to me. It's why I disappear in the middle of the afternoon at these things. I have to have quiet time or I'll implode and then melt down.
