Update on donations from July 1 through August 17th:
Melisande has donated quite a bit - $50 to Reconciliation Canada, $50 to RandomActs.org to help with the situation in Haiti, and $55 to UNICEF Canada to get vaccines to third world countries
Jaryd organized and helped raise $1,580 to help Feeding America! That's huge.
Both Merena and I donated to Jaryd's cause (and logged it via the tracker, go us )
Vivianna caught up on her efforts from March onward. She donated $54.50 to help buy playground equipment for her nephew's school. She donated $75 to JCon's fundraiser. She bought three GCH T-shirts (wahoo!) totaling $72. She gave $205 to help a friend in need of a divorce lawyer. She donated $50 to a friend's Swim Across America fundraiser. She donated $50 to help buy blankets for the NICU. She also helped out a teacher and donated $40 to buy books for students. Viv, you rock!
Juliya donated $75 CAD to the Canadian Red Cross to help with wildfires in BC.
Arella donates approximately $11 each month to Noah, an animal rights organization. By the end of the GCH, this will total over $132.
You guys are awesome. I truly look up to everyone for the help the affect change in their communities and in the lives of others.
I also want to apologize for inconsistencies with updating this recently. For one, my school year has started and it's been insane. Second, I've been focusing my time and energy on getting things ready for our fundraiser -- which is now live! Go check it out! Again -- my apologies. I am planning on the next update for this being made on/around October 1, 2021, in roughly 5 weeks. It will be the last official update, as tracking will end on October 31, 2021. Results after that will be announced in early November.
Wahoo, we made it! Last tracking update! Please continue to track your efforts through October 31, 2021. Final results will be shared on November 6, 2021 via a special special something something.
From August 18th - October 1st:
Arella: $28 to Amnesty's efforts for Afghan refugees
Elania: $200 ($25 per month for the past 8 months) to Ozarks Food Harvest
Melorea: roughly $58 USD (50 euros) to UNICEF Ireland, $50 to Women for Women International
Alyssa: donated 24 hours at her local vaccination shelter; ongoing donations of clothing, shoes, furniture, kitchen tools, books over the past span of years to her country's national recycling center (The people who work in the store come from underprivileged backgrounds and are given the opportunity to gain work experience through the store. The store's profits are used to pay for the education of these people as well.)
Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share efforts with the community. Look forward to November 6th!
no time like the last minute. logged some of the things I've done through the year. some of it WAS for our group cause (helping animals) but I did it by myself, not as part of a group effort, so I marked those as solo...but I guess it all counts regardless.
