Dear TarValoners:
Tarmon Gai'don TarMem Guide'on, the TarValon Membership Guide, was announced a while ago. It's finally here!
The TarValon.Net Membership Guide will be a way to connect current members with newbies who join our forums by matching them via country, language, or common interest. Current members who are a 'match' for a new member will be PMed; it is up to the current member to reach out to the new member. This means that newbies don't have to be nervous about 'cold calls' that may not be returned -- and current members will be able to choose to whom they forge contacts, depending on personal preference and availability.
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who are helping get the survey link out to SMs first. You'll be seeing a PM from @Eliza Al'Shaw, the fearless leader of our messengers, or one of her trusty henchpeople (@Calen Velervron , @Liam al'Eire , and @Madhar al'Thera ) in your inbox in the next little while. We'll then circle back to the JMs -- everyone from citizen up will be invited to participate.
Why no link here? We're doing a slower rollout to account for any blips and updates along the way.
No problem! Participation in the TMG is entirely optional. When you get your PM, please just write them a note that you don't want to take part -- that way, they won't circle back to you to follow up.
We likely won't start matching until January, as we need a number of respondents for this to be effective -- and we need to iron out our pairing methodology. It's a big initiative, but we hope it'll be fun!
It's also important to note that, while we hope we'll find matches for each new member, we can't guarantee one for everyone.
At this point, the program should be well established enough that we'll have some permalinks in group forums. Check there -- if you don't see if, shoot me a PM and I'll get you connected!
You will be able to update as need be -- it remains TBD if we'll be asking for edits by resubmitting the survey or emailing the current mayor, but likely the latter. We'll keep you posted!
Thanks to everyone who has submitted their responses so far!

Help, it's March 2018 and I just saw this post and I never got a PM and I want in!
