Has anyone considered that as the barriers weakened, the DO pulled Moridin from a thread in the pattern where Tigraine ignored Gitana, and stayed in Caemlyn to have Galads younger brother instead of fulfilling prophecy in the Aiel waste. That would make the woman with the gray hair, Moridins mom, Tigraine. A Tigraine from a universe that could have been. I believe that is why Rand and Moridin where connected: they were opposite sides of the same coin. If the DO was to beat you, wouldnt it be the most sinister if the DO beat you, with you? Or who you could have been if different choices had of been made. Without angering the Empress... my theory does seem to fit in with the story within the story too. Does any else think this is right?
That doesn't really work Fox, as cool as it is. Elam/Ishamael/Moridin has displayed numerous times his knowledge of the Age of Legends along with the rest of the Chosen, and reinforced through his equal disdain for M'Hael as a new Chosen.
I really like the theory about Moridin having been a split incarnation of the Dragon from a past age that went black and was split from Lews Therin when the Bore was made. That would also explain why he's so aloof and distant from the rest of the Chosen, why he never quite seems to fit in with them and their scheming for power. He looks at them like they look at the Third Age Aes Sedai, as pitiful children.
