First off, we have a new Outreach Activities (formerly Online Events) Coordinator!
RL has eaten Liiane, and as such she's had to step down from her role as Outreach Activities Coordinator. Liiane has been on LoA for the past few months, and Xylina, as her assistant, has been leading the team in Lii's absence. We've all been impressed with the work Xylina has done in stepping up and making sure the Outreach Activities Team kept running and on track.
And so, it is my pleasure to announce Xylina as our next Outreach Activities Coordinator!
This is a bit atypical, as we did not open up applications for this role. Given that Xylina has already been essentially working in this role (albeit without the title), she has the experience, training, and success to back up any application she could have written, putting her ahead of other potential candidates. Moreover, because of the transition that the Outreach Activities Team is undergoing as we change departments, this decision will allow for the greatest continuity.

Overview
Members of the Outreach Activities (OA) Team hold staff positions in the Department of Community Outreach, working with and for our Outreach Activities Coordinator and, if you're into art, our Graphics Coordinator. You will help plan, prepare and execute activities. Applicants should be excited, motivated, and creative, and enjoy having fun! These positions will last until December 31, 2011, although you will be given an opportunity to stay on once your term is up.

In addition to writing or graphics skills, we are looking for highly organized individuals who are able to lead small groups of people on specific tasks. Active participation on the OA team counts as a contribution towards raising, btw!

Duties
- Actively participate in the planning, preparation and execution of our four annual freeweeks as well as other events. This can include coming up with ideas for activities, creating graphics, writing, etc.

[/*:mgpb7b6e] - Send out birthday greetings to our members
[/*:mgpb7b6e] - Create/alter graphics/avs, etc. under direction of the OAGC.
