I am so excited to announce we are now ready to accept bids for the 23rd Anniversary Party of TarValon.Net in 2024! If you are tired of trekking across the continent when there’s a wonderful place for our event right in your own backyard, this post is for you. If you know of an amazing location but aren't close to it, this post is also for you!
To place a bid, we’re asking that you pick a specific venue or site and do the initial research for it as part of your bid. We aren’t expecting you to finish all the planning, but we would like to see you lay out a plausible scenario for the event at your venue of choice. Please note that while we will do our best to choose locations that are safe for all of our members, we are limited to the bids that we receive. We will do our best to vet locations to give reasonable assurance that our LGBTQIA2S+ and mobility challenged members are safe and have reasonable accommodations.

Things to keep in mind:
- If your bid is selected, you could be an integral part of the planning. By making a bid, you are potentially volunteering to be the Local Liaison.
- While we will accept bids for locations with no local liaison, we would prefer to have someone close by incase we need eyes and ears on the spot.
- The Local Liaison is essentially a staff position in the Department of Events and Conferences with a term of about 14 months.
- Anni is generally held in the fall (September-November) in a campground or resort type location. The venue should have cabin-like living arrangements (preferably with options for single and couple beds), kitchen space for meal preps (or on-site dining services), and space for events such as sword fighting or archery.
- While we traditionally have Anni in a campground/resort style location, we are open to hotel venues if they can accommodate our space needs.
- Preferred site locations are moderately isolated. We tend to be fairly loud so being 10 feet from a cabin holding a girl scout meet wouldn't be the best location.
- Normal Anni attendance is 30 - 50 people.
- We aim for ticket prices somewhere around $175 - $225 and about 85% is allocated for food and lodgings.

- If you have multiple venues in mind, go ahead and submit more than one bid!
- If you’re missing answers to a question that is required, make a note about why you don’t know instead. Perfection isn’t necessary!
