It's time to ask for bids for the 2016 Britain & Ireland party and the 2016 Continental European party!

Keep in mind that following last year's announcement we are accepting bids for either a Conference style party (cabin in the woods with the Tower hosting all entertainments) or a Tourist party (in a location with sights away from our lodging to see and enjoy).

Things to keep in mind when submitting a bid:

• If your bid is selected, you will be an integral part of the planning. By making a bid, you are volunteering to be the local liaison.
• For CE Events this means you will also take on the position of Mistress/Master of Revels for Continental Europe.
• Typical events take place from Friday (afternoon) to Sunday (morning), and can be held virtually at any time of year.
• Conference style events are generally held in a campground type location. The site should have cabin-like living arrangements, kitchen space for meal preps, and spaces for events like sword fighting, tournaments, and other activities. Preferred site locations would be moderately isolated. We tend to be fairly loud so being 10 feet from a cabin holding a Brownies Meeting wouldn't be the best location, Hen Parties tend to think we're a bit special too.
• Tourist events are generally held in a hotel style location and in a location with easily accessible sites to see. Traditionally these have only one catered meal that will also need to be arranged by the Local Liaison.
• Normal Euro attendance is between 20 and 30 people.
• Conference party tickets tend to be around £75 for B&I and €75 for CE, for reference.
• Tourist party tickets have been around €120 / £85, for reference.

Are there specific dates we should look at? Last year's B&I was in um... April? (Yes I was there... ) and this year's is October. Are we aiming for October again?

We're open to any time of year for either event! B&I could be in April or October or June or ... well we usually avoid Decemeber/January because of the holidays. But any other time is good! If we get good bids for both B&I and CE at the same time of year, we'd work with the bidders to try and spread them out over the year. So pick when you think your destination will be at its best.

To add.. having been LL last year and this year.. I often find that pricing wise I usually have the best luck in April and October specifically for various months. Depending on the seasonality of the location you're looking at you may be able to extend that into May and September. With that being said it could be different depending on where you go because we have managed a good successful Belgian party in August

Everything will be dependent on the bids, time of year, etc. I believe the goal is to have at least 1 party, and perhaps 2 if we can make it work.
