But the current term is almost up and we are now looking for a Greeter, a Head Greeter, and Architects. The term is six months and will end January 10th, 2024
Overview
The City Council is a staff position under the Department of Membership and is responsible for helping new members adjust to TarValon.Net. The duties of the Council include welcoming new members, answering questions new members may have about the Community (including the Tower Bylaws or the Membership Manual), and moderating the Introductions forum. You can read more about the City Council here. The mayor will always be there to help out so don’t feel like you need to know all the things to apply
Requirements
Time Commitment
Must be able to dedicate approximately 5-10 hours a week to the position
Time frame
All City Council positions, except Scribe, have a commitment of six months. The next term starts July 10th and will end January 10th, 2024
Duties and Responsibilities
Architect
In charge of special projects - i.e. getting Citizens organised for Free Weeks
Help monitor the City forums and keep these active
Work on the Citizens’ Class
Come up with ideas to help our Visitors, Citizens, and City be awesome, then help develop these ideas
Head Greeter
In charge of organising and making sure that all new members are greeted within a week of signing up
Keep all Greeting templates updated and easily accessible for the Greeter
Make sure the Greeter spreadsheet runs smoothly
Greeter
Patrol the Introductions Forum and work with visitors, helping them get avatars, get enough posts, and become citizens
Greet new members according to the templates provided by the Head Greeter
Keep the team updated on who they’ve greeted, and let the Mayor know of any membership items that need follow-up

Requirements
- Have an email address you are willing to share with the Mayor. Some projects may also require you to have an email address you are willing to share with everyone in the forum. If you are uncomfortable using your primary email, you can create a secondary email whose only use is for this forum.
- Be trainable. You don't have to know anything coming into this position; you will be taught everything you need to know. Some projects may require you to use Google Drive.
- Be enthusiastic, creative, and forward-thinking. Ideal Council members will have suggestions, big or small, for how the Community can better involve new members.
