We have an opening for a new Scribe for this new rotation!
We’re also going to try and change the rotation term to six months for Scribe, instead of a whole year. So, this term will begin January 10, and end July 10, 2024, like the rest of City Council.
Overview
The City Council is a staff position under the Department of Membership and is responsible for helping new members adjust to TarValon.Net. The duties of the council include welcoming new members, answering questions new members may have about the Community (including the Tower Bylaws or the Membership Manual), and moderating the Introductions forum. You can read more about the City Council here. The mayor will always be there to help out so don’t feel like you need to know all the things to apply. Resources will also be provided

Requirements
- Have an email address you are willing to share with the Mayor. Some projects may also require you to have an email address you are willing to share with everyone in the forum. If you are uncomfortable using your primary email, you can create a secondary email whose only use is for this forum.
- Be trainable. You don't have to know anything coming into this position; you will be taught everything you need to know. Some projects may require you to use Google Drive.
- Be enthusiastic, creative, and forward-thinking. Ideal Council members will have suggestions, big or small, for how the Community can better involve new members.
Time Commitment
- Must be able to dedicate approximately 1 hour a week to the position (usually spread out in 5-10min increments)
- Term ends: July 10, 2024
Duties
- Maintain a spreadsheet in Google Drive of the active visitors and track their credentials toward becoming a citizen as they move through the process.
- Help the Mayor organise documents or record information in other areas as they develop.
- Familiarity with Google Sheets is a bonus but not a must if you’re willing to learn.
