I'm 200 pages into it, and I feel like I've read about 500 pages of any other book. I am loving it, though.

On the subject of Kaladin, I am wearing my Bridge Four necklace that Ignis bought me today. I do like Kaladin. He's not my favorite, but he's a well-written character, and I feel a lot of sympathy for him. And I love Bridge Four as a whole.

I will say there's a difference between "work" and "chore." Especially for diving into a 1200+ page book after a years-long physical-reading slump. "Work" feels productive, and "chore" feels draining. And there were a couple of days where I had to take a break, because my brain just felt drained and tired after a couple of sittings.

I do have a couple of books I'm reading along with this one, so I'm paying attention to my mental health. Thank you for checking on me.

Fair enough. These days when I see "Work" and "read" together I think of spending 30 minutes reading the same paragraph cause everything glazed over and you lost your place in the technical document you've been reading. lol

Yeah, no worries. I've been giving myself grace, because I'm still in recovery from the reading slump. And the grace includes not making myself absorb the incredibly dense and technical scenes when they come up. I'll just let my eyes float over the words, and I'll absorb what I absorb.

I've just been calling reading this book "work," because it's the longest and densest one I've picked up since I've come out of the slump.
