That's not bad at all. :D Detroit also has direct flights to Chattanooga - though I dunno on which airlines. CHA has Delta, US Airways, and some other I forget.

If I were to consider flying in, where would be best to fly to? Who could rescue me from the airport? *bats eyelashes at Erin*

If you came into Chattanooga, I would make it happen. ;)

The location is closer to Atlanta, geographically. When you take into account travel time in Atlanta, it's still less travel time - but within 15-20 minutes difference (I think? Correct me if I'm wrong, Ubah/Serenla! I'm not as cognizant of your side of this venture. :P). Atlanta's airport is huge, and traffic in Atlanta can be pretty crazy. Chattanooga's airport is very small, and traffic isn't an issue unless you're driving around during rush hour (4PM-6PM on Fridays, generally).

I wish I was in a position to be able to happily declare I could fly out to something like this, sounds like it would be fun. Even though I'm the awkardest of the penguins at parties most of the time :look:

Beldur, a lot of us here are awkward penguins :look: I am sure you will fit right in ;) And if you feel the need to do so, there is nothing wrong with retiring to the room for a couple of hours during the day... No one says you HAVE to be part of everything that goes on ;)

^ What Aduiavas said about awkward penguins.

Caly: I'd be willing to pick you up from the ATL airport if you arrived early afternoon. :D

If I drive up from FL, I can potentially pick up a few people at the airport on my way up.

Preeeeeettttyy wilderness. *.*

I believe each cabin does have its own kitchen, if I'm not mistaken.* Which will be fan-freaking-tastic! :joy

*Serenla/Ubah will correct me if I'm wrong. :look:

Yes, each cabin has it's own kitchen. We thought this would be a huge boon to those with extreme food allergies to house/prepare their own snacks/meals. Not that they HAVE to prepare their own meals, but some have gone to that extreme in the past. Plus, think of all the fridge space for booze! That and it provides great opportunities for various group activities be it toasts or what not. ;)

*absolutely drools at the kitchens*

If you pick Atlanta, I'm telling you--take the train all the way North and caravan with people from there! Is anyone tentatively interested in doing this? I'm flying from Boston potentially with 4 people total. You know you want to rent a car with me (or a van :arch - better for luggage if you have enough people) and save $$$! :D

I'm going to be arriving on the Thursday night, as otherwise I'd not arrive until far too late on the Friday. Not really got any further than that yet.

Also, can I ask - when it talked about "limited spaces" - is that as in "Fewer than previous events" or "If you don't register in the first 12 hours then you're scuppered?" :p I am umming and aahing about booking flights now before they go up in price, but I don't want to do that and then find I don't get a spot :p

Eala:
65-70ish. If there is a HUGE demand, if we know enough in advance and there are cabins available we may be able to get more, but I want those "sold out" first to be sure.

I doubt they'd all be snapped up so fast that you couldn't register. :) And if they are, then I believe that definitely would indicate huge demand, and we would try to secure more spaces.
