[Open] Hiring: Graphics Development Team

With the increased demand for graphics of all different kinds for TarValon.Net as a whole we are looking to bring on some new Graphics Development Team members to join #teammarketing!

The Graphics Development Team are staff positions within the Department of Marketing. The Graphics team is responsible for all visual assets used on or in conjunction with TarValon.Net. These may include anything from logos, banners, icons, and Web work, to printed material, advertisements, and illustrations; used in an official capacity by TarValon.Net. The Graphics Development Team is a group of people with a wide variety of visual/graphic design skills.

This position is non-rotating. Those who join the Graphics Development Team are eligible for the Pro Bono Merit. Once Pro Bono gold is achieved, the member is eligible for the Staff Merit. The GDT staff report to the Marketing Project Manager, who reports directly to the Director of Marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create official graphical assets for TarValon.Net.
• Update existing graphics as necessary.
• Work with team members to brainstorm and troubleshoot ideas.
• Work with other departments within TarValon.Net to manage their specific design needs.

Expectations and Experience

• Have access to graphics editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, Corel Painter or Draw, Paint Shop Pro, or equivalent.
  • We do also have CanvaPro, which GDT members are free to use to create designs.
• Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, and be able to give and receive constructive criticism from other team members.
• Be able to work with a deadline.
• Have been a member of TarValon.Net for at least 6 months. Applicants may be of any rank.
  • If you have not been a member for 6 months but are still interested, please apply anyway! Having the skills is more important than the length of your membership
• Be experienced in any or all of the following areas: graphic design, interactive design, typography, illustration, or visual arts.

The workload for the Graphics Development Team is dependent on what is needed at the time, but more artists means more flexibility in taking on projects. You will also be called on to give your fellow artists feedback and accept feedback in return.
