Does anyone know if these books can be read/viewed on Kindle, now that Kindle made some behind the scenes changes? If yes, I'll probably get the bundle too, in case I ever want to revist old friends.

Yes, you still can. You have to download software called Calibre.

Then you connect your kindle via wire, and convert the epub books to mobi. Then there will be a button at the top of Calibre that says send to library and you select the documents section under Kindle.

edit: you will have to highlight all 26 books in calibre then do "bulk convert" from epub to mobi

yeah it is a crazy good deal, that is only reason I posted it. I have all of them physical and about half digital. So, I am still considering it. Really be nice to find someone who lives near me we could just go half in half on it and share them. Oh, well.

the kindle app (not sure about actual kindles) also doesn't require mobi anymore, so no need to convert them if you read on your phone!

You are correct about the app, but an actual Paperwhite still needs to be converted to Mobi from Epub and transferred via USB to work.

You read books on your phone screen?!?!!? I can't stand that. Or on laptops. Paperwhite is so much easier on my eyes. If you have not seen a paperwhite in person or read from one in person, I highly recommend you give it a try.
