Yeah the early trailers seem to show warders in combat moving in perfect tandem with their AS, dodging just as they throw a fireball over their heads, etc.
Alanna there near the end in the forest is almost exactly what I pictured of a powerful Aes Sedai fully embracing the Source in a moment of battle. Rosamund Pike has said elsewhere that they intentionally worked with each actress to develop their own personal motions and visual style when...
Yeah I think EotW is intentionally responding to LotR, right? I mean, it's a hero's journey and all but it intentionally uproots the classic male guide with a female one, and then leans in to the innovative magic system and Buddhist framework for the worldbuilding. LotR is very much a linear...
Amazon Prime dropped another little short promo featuring Logain this time. Some pretty cool stuff here, including our first glimpse of Saidin being channeled!

I actually quite like the scene, with allowances for lack of surrounding scenes. Love that Nynaeve is suspicious of Moiraine from the first moment, and that Egwene is more curious and intrigued. And how awesome is Lan? "I'm Lan Mandragoran. This is Moiraine." King.
The cold color balance is a bit noticeable, I agree Aran.
I like the outfits otherwise, though. I think as cosplayers many of us tend to think of WoT in terms of the Aes Sedai in their best finery, but especially for the journey parts of the narrative I can see fairly plain clothing being the...
Rafe also repeatedly pronounces her name as "Moy-Rain" in the video, which makes me twitch something fierce. :p If that's how it is in the show I'll live.....but I'll still probably twitch every time. :lol
The showrunner, Rafe Judkins, has been saying not to expect a 1-1 book/season pattern. He said they're writing the show as an adaptation of the full series, with that idea in mind.
Rafe Judkins just did a Q&A on Instagram centered on adaptation changes.
Here's a link to the whole things: Link.
Here's my favorite two answers he gave in the whole thing, one hilarious and one pertinent as the show gets nearer.
It may be taking the term "teaser" to an extreme, but the show's Twitter page released this short audio clip from the show, calling it a "first listen."

According to the actress playing Egwene, this is an "Egwene and Perrin sneak peek."

For my money, the most interesting response is this one, about the accent Moiraine will have:
So now I'm left wondering if Lan is already cast and with someone who has a non-American accent. :p
Super excited about this! Now that the dam has broken, there should be at least a few more casting announcements in the short term, hopefully over the next few weeks.
I think those are *really* subtle, though, right up until the final battle at the Eye. Even knowing Rand was the chosen one, I didn't really realize things like the lightning strike in the barn, etc, were channeling until after I'd read the whole book (and possibly not until I saw someone...
