That's a change in the show I don't mind, if there had to be more Aes Sedai in that chamber with Logain it would have been crowded and confusing to keep up with the conversations with Moiraine and the other Aes Sedai. It does make it 'cleaner' to watch in those scenes....if that makes sense?

In the books I think it's Ishamael who says he whispered in the minds of various False Dragons through the ages, and Logain did say he heard all of the Dragons of the ages....maybe it's whispers that are just lumped in and blamed on the madness.

I was so afraid it was Mat that killed the family until I saw the Fade....even then I had doubts because one of the bodies appeared to be darkened like what the ruby daggar does to bodies....I'll have to watch again. I did love when Egwene asked if they were sure they hadn't found the song...
