There is plenty of green space around the camp itself; if you wanted to chill out in a tent, I don't think it would be a problem. But there might be a "no camping" at the Group Cabins rule -- I don't want to mislead you.

Chattanooga's in the South, but the city itself leans way more liberal than the surrounding areas. We also have anime conventions and SCA gatherings and any number of geek-centric things that happen in/around the area. Locals are used to all kinds flocking in. You'll be fine. :)
