Remember though, that all Perrin's possessions were returned to him after his first "interview" with Bornhald Sr and Byar. Except the axe, obviously. So he got his coin back after he first lost it, which would also account for why she felt the bond go away, then return.

I love one of the sentences from that chapter. Pulling it from memory, so it may not be 100% accurate, but the main point is there:
"One moment, Lan was at the door, the next he was at the bedside, sword in hand blocking Mat's hand with the dagger, as if he hadn't bothered with the intermediate...
That part with the ravens are so scary! I am actually glad that isn't in the TV series (yet anyway). I don't like birds, this chapter was hard for me to read.
Also, I like reading your thoughts as a first-time reader :)
