Welcome crafty type person. I don't knit, but I know how to sew (thanks mom!) and I bind books. Just visiting or planning on joining our fine community, I hope how a good time here. :)
That depends. The nearest big 'Town' is Baerlon. The nearest city, is arguably, White Bridge. i'm not sure either has any direct contact with the Two Rivers.
Which City? Most of Two Rivers hasn't even had contact to a 'city'. My understanding is that they dealt with merchants that came to them once or twice a year. I could be wrong in that though. As for Tam, you would think he would know that the Two Rivers is in Andor. I don't recall him ever...
I think that they always had that sense (i.g. their stubborn streak), but it wasn't until after Rand left that they start to find out that someone had a 'claim' on them, so to speak. The events that followed after Rand left just game the people of Two Rivers a reason why they were and felt the...

It occurred to me towards the end of reading A Memory of Light, that the relationship between Two Rivers and Andor highlights an interesting political theory. Maybe theory isn't correct and 'truth'is more accurate. A truth that basically states that any and all governments...
So I'm now about 60% of the way through book 11. It is by far much faster than book 10. :D Almost to the point of being 'jarring'. I kind of feel as if I missed some things, or that RJ skipped a head in time without really letting the reader know.
I'm not sure there is a specific discipline that he used, but the descriptions that Jordan gave and the fact that the forms are named would lead me to suspect that he had asian style sword fighting in mind. ::Shrugs:: Could be way off there though.
Aaaannnndddd... I'm done :P I finally finished book 10. I hope now, that means things pick up again :D I must say, while slow, it does provide the framework needed, I'm sure, for the rest of the books.
I suppose it's in Jordan's credit that things didn't slow until book 10. I would guess that at somepoint he would have had to slow things down just to provide background and such. Alsoto make it to book 10 before slowing is a sign of some planning. What's the quoate? A plan is only good for...
A surprising amount of people at where I work have read the Wheel of Time. That alone makes for interesting work, but it's not the subject of this post. More than a few have read the WoT and about all have said that book 10 tends to be 'slow' Now I've just started reading it. I'm where Mat...
