Oh man I was looking for G in the photo. But forgot it's not till later.

I want to see them fight in those long pants. (or are they divided skirts for riding?) :look:

They probably did it like this to save money, armour is a lot more expensive than cloth. If the show is a success they might get better gear later on
That's true enough. And having that many suits of armour (even just individual pieces) is a pain. 11 clearly visible, with a 12th possibly hidden by Bornhald. Even just a munitions grade Peascod would run about $600 USD. Closer to $400 if you use aluminum, an hydraulic press, and a mould. Still, that's $4400 to $4800 USD just for the whitecloaks. They could be repurposed for Andoran Queen's Guard, I suppose.

Not that I can find, but I don't have my books in front of me. That might be the case here, though I don't remember when they try to cause unrest. Is that EotW? Or were they doing that in later books instead?

No-one expects the Whitecloak inquisition!! I could imagine them as Templars, military Christians with a forced -upon -others -of -religious- zeal.

There are a few things I have seen so far where I am questioning (no pun intended) the artistic direction or casting choice of certain people.....the white cloaks however....I think they nailed!

Can anyone with any relevant martial knowledge tell me why they have the pauldrons on the left arms?

You would think most would be right handed, but does this allow them to use their left arms kinda like shields???

This is a show I quite like on historical costume recreation. When I saw the initial discussion about the Whitecloak appearance I IMMEDIATELY remembered this particular episode. It explains a lot of certain looks for warriors in the Middle Ages in particular, and I think that for practical purposes we can draw a lot of the same assumptions for the Whitecloaks. :)

I'm cool with their appearance but I'm wondering if they're still gonna be called Whitecloaks? Seems like they're missing the crucial article of clothing for that epithet to be applicable.

Well, they do prefer to be called the Children of the Light, so maybe that is why they decided to drop the white cloaks? :P
