Let me start off by saying sorry I didn't read that I needed a normal name for the wheel of time world when I chose my name lol.
Who is my favorite character and why? I mean it's probably obvious by my name but Perrin. I think it's due to a few things. One his powers in the early books(I'm only on book six right now so no spoilers) and two he gives me very Midwestern vibes. Oh and I think he is a more realistic view of what it means to have power thrust upon you.
How did I find out about Tar Valon? I had a coworker see I was reading the books and told me to join. I recently got over the fear of being spoiled on the books and joined.
I work as a finance manager and my biggest hobby is chess.
I'm from the midwest.
I'm torn on the show. The uncritical fan in me says thank God the show exists so I can see it. The book reader in me says wow just completely changing major parts about the character on episode one is a wild choice.
Favorite author uhhhhh if I had to pick I guess I'd say Andrzej Sapkowski. Maybe Cormac McCarthy.

Welcome, rather new here myself. WOT had been on my to be read list for years, but the Amazon show started it. And I don't get why some of the plot lines went so dang crazy on Amazon. I understand artistic license but wow. On the other hand, I loved everything else about it.

I really like how it basically is a realistic exploration of what would happen with humans and other fantasy creatures if they existed together.
