Using Callandor's fault for Moridin
Min's view for Siuan was not fullfilled and her death. I did expect Siuan and Bryne to be toasted but not that way.
Those were the biggest ones. Rest were somewhat expected or speculated

Min's viewing for Siuan wasn't fulfilled? Which one?
the one where Siuan must be with Bryne or else they both die. Min is pretty upset to see Siuan and says that the view is still valid one. Minutes later Siuan dies and Bryne (off screen) soon after that

It took me a while to figure out hinderstrap, that surprised me. But it was bloody brilliant on Mat's part, for sure. I was surprised with a lot of the deaths, but more importantly I'm surprised it was more about fighting than it was really about the characters. Like, Perrin knows he might not see Faile again, but you don't get to see their goodbye. Same with Rand and the girls. Same with everyone. You hear mention of these letters people have written, such as Nyv to Lan, but you never see the actual letter. That was one thing that really bothered me, was that Sanderson basically took away from the characters by making them solely about the fight at hand. Yes, it is the last battle, yes it is what everyone should be focused on.. but we didn't need 900 pages of fighting. You could have taken 100 or so to give us some of that wonderful interaction with the characters that made us love them in the first place. We had a bit of it with Mat and Rand at the start, but for so many characters it was just lacking.
I could have used 100 more pages as well.
I was surprised that they let Moridin take Callandor and then exploited it to make a massive three Power weave. Call me blind for not seeing that coming somehow, but I was so impressed by that turn of events that I was laughing at the awesomeness of the idea. One of those "Yes, we were really more clever than evil" moments.
One question.
If my memory serves Hinderstrap was located in the southern lands. How come in book 14 it conveniently was located near the northern battlefield?

What? It wasn't located near the northern battlefield. The Asheman opened a portal there to bring the people.
I have a few things that shocked / surprised me. Most are listed and discussed. However there are others!
Moiraine. We spent, what 8 books, with her gone and hints about her return. Always mentioned about where she was and the loss of her. Then devote an entire theme of ToM to her rescue / return. I was so pumped thinking about the impact she will have on Rand. The people close to her that she would have a reunion with. Her role in the Last battle. And nothing. Literally nothing. She had 4 conversations with Rand. One with Nynaeve and that's it. Really? No interaction with Lan? No interaction with Siuan before her death? Barely interaction with Egwene. Come on! Then she spends the entire Last Battle clutching a damn rock in the Pit of Doom. At least Nynaeve tried to and did move. 900+ pages and she had 2 paragraphs of involvement in the last battle. Majorly disappointed in that.
Also shocked at Padan Fain's weak involvement and basically quick death. I was waiting for page after page after page for him to show up. I honestly thought that he would kill Moridin or Demandred because he wanted to be the one to kill Rand. Then he shows up, one with the Mist. Matt appears and oh by the way I'm also, in addition to being lucky, have the memories of 1000 years of military experience and you cannot channel against me, immune to Mashadar. Not pleased at that easy way out. It was almost as if Sanderson forgot about him and then was like oh yeah its page 850, need to bring him in and get rid of him.
I was also surprised that apparently only Demandred thought to link 72 people together, a full circle. If Egwene and Vora's Sa'Angreal had 71 Ash'Aman and Sisters linked with her she could have been raining destruction down everywhere as well. Also found it a little odd, and maybe they didnt mention it but shouldnt the White Towers stores of Angreal, Ter'Angrea and Sa'Angreal been ponied out to everyone who can channel (male and female). I only counted Elayne, Egwene, Aviendha, Cadsuane, Nynaeve, Moiraine as having them.
Don't get me wrong. I loved the book and thought that there were a lot of good things about it. Its the last book in the series and I know im never going to be 100% satisfied and now, like everyone else, its time to bring out the fine toothed comb.

I think it was mentioned somewhere, in passing, that the Aes Sedai were using all of their angreal and sa'angreal, that the storerooms in the White Tower had been emptied of them. We didn't get to see the PoV's of a lot of other Sisters though, so I imagine that's the reason why they aren't mentioned explicitly.
I agree with you that it's odd that there was no full circle on the Light side. Especially considering that Demandred was using such a circle.

I know some people were surprised at the lack of Forsaken at Shayol Ghul. When LTT tried to seal the Bore, the Foresaken were there. That's how they got sealed into the Bore with TDO. I don't imagine they would have been too keen to repeat the experience...

lol that is sorta funy i kept expecting lanfear to want to kill moridin an not rand i thought they would have to keep her away from it... on the plus side the forsaken can be reobrn to more normal lives... maybe rand will run into bel and be able to treat him more as a freind in the future the way he discovered he should have... that was sort of a highlight where Rand and Bel were both having somewhat repentent thoughts on thier past actiosn that had led to that etc :/

I wondered at the lack of a full circle on Light's side too. I wonder if it was something to do with the lack of trust in the Asha'man still? Or were there enough bonded to Sisters already that it shouldn't have been an issue?

I think they didn't have such a big circle because that would mean only person to weave weaves and it would be very much in one direction only. While if they aren't in a circle they can attack on many different places. Sure it could be stronger weaves if they had a circle, but I don't think they want that big weaves because it could hurt their own soldiers too and not only the shadowspawn/sharans, while Demandred didn't care if he killed some of his own people too.
