Oh I forgot to mention that I finished Steelheart! I enjoyed it. :D It kept my interest all the way through, and I look forward to reading the next one.

Steelheart end spoiler:
I had guessed that Prof was an Epic after they mentioned the thing about Gifters, but I hadn't guessed about Megan being Firefight - that was a surprise! I am very curious why Epics go bad when they use their power....

Man I really should read Mitosis, then Book 2. I have them all in hardcover! I went to two Reckoners events and got my books signed, even.

You haven't finished them yet? I do highly recommend it, part of why I made this thread. I felt this series from Brandon in particular did not get enough love, it was really well done and not overbearing. I keep telling myself I will re-read Wheel of Time, but then I remember the thousand pages dedicated to clothing details and I am like ugh... do I really... lol

Don't get me wrong WoT will always be my favorite series, but it sure is a beast.

I have so many books from the library right now, I have to wait until I'm done with a few of them to start the second.

I got a former friend to read Steelheart once. He was huge into comic books and I thought he'd like it. He just called it derivative and had nothing else to say about it.

:\

I try not to, but I get so offended when my friends or family don't like the things I like. :look:

For me it's more so with books. I go out of my way to suggest books to friends, and then most of the time they don't like the book.

So either I'm a poor judge of character or they suck for not liking the book.

I'll go with the latter.

ever been to Guyton, Georgia Thaddius? @Thaddius al'Guy

Also, I think some people are just very picky... I for one have learned to let small things go and try to enjoy the overall picture being painted in my mind. If that makes any sense?

No, but I pass by it on the way to Savannah sometimes. Why do you ask?

Just shipped a computer part I sold to some guy there, he is a distant friend, so I was looking at Google Earth of that area earlier today. Looks quite nice, the weather is lovely there this week.

Necroposting because I just finished both Steelheart and Mitosis yesterday, and started on Firefight.

Seems like this series is what happens when a writer takes revenge on being forced to read dozens of bad creative writing student assignments. Some of the metaphors used are REALLY bad. :rofl

I actually like his science fiction stuff better than his fantasy stuff.

Yes, this is actually my favourite Sanderson series :)
And it takes so much imagination to come up with all of those bad metaphors/similes. :pleased-1:
I have to say though, Steelheart is BY FAR the best book in this series. But the other two are also very good, just not as good as Steelheart ;)
