I read these books recently and they're all I've been able to think about since then. I really enjoyed them for being something unique that I haven't encountered before. Necromancers in space! Scifi isn't usually a genre I read much of but these had me completely captivated needing to know what would happen next. They really throw you in there with some part being confusing without knowing what is going on but going back to reread things has helped which I feel is a bit of the point. That you won't catch everything the first time around but they will make more sense when reread since you'll have the whole picture. There's something for everyone in these books whether it's the humor, the drama, or the heartbreak that is prevalent in them. I can't wait to read Alecto the Ninth when it comes out.

Who else has read them and who are your favorites and which parts did you enjoy the most? Or dislike?

Me!!! Huge fan of these, and one of my favorite things is how the blend narrative and exposition, especially without making the reader feel like an idiot student lol.

I absolutely adore the world building as well, and how the first book sets you up to be a lot of training montages but then immediately pivots to being a locked room murder mystery.

I enjoy how it's all like a puzzle box to figure out what's going on without is being hand fed to readers since all three have unreliable narrators for different reasons. The way Muir writes from different POVs feels different from other books more natural and feeling more realistic based on their actions in the different environments they inhabit.

The first book is undeniably my favorite because Gideon is such a fun character and I love her interactions with Harrowhark. It definitely keeps you on your toes even with that since I didn't expect it to go from awkward dinner party to a whodunit

I couldn't agree more, except -MAJOR SPOILERS FOR Book 2-
that my absolute favorite moments from Gideon happen in the second book when she's piloting Harrow's body.

"Oooooh, Palamedes. I am measurably less intelligent than you. Put your tongue in my mouth, and I’ll flop my tongue against it.”

Nothing.

“I think bones are mediocre.”

That part had me laughing so much with all of her running commentary but it did make me so incredibly sad when she called out Harrow saying "I gave you my whole life and you didn't even want it." I just think it's brilliant when we first see Gideon and all throughout her POV she's just clueless about anything going on and a complete smartass but we do see her deeper feelings as well even when they're subtle.

The dynamic between Harrow, Gideon, Camilla, and Palamedes is also solid gold
