The Green Ajah have decided to focus on Crisis Outreach. Many of the organizations our Ajah have brought up are focused on Youth in Crisis, but having a more broad term also allows us to focus on all the charities our group has discussed.

We want to support Crisis Outreach because many of these organizations are important to us because they offered help when needed or we have worked with them directly and know the good they do. Also, this focus allows us to contribute as a group on a broader scale, but also allows our Ajah members to help out locally within their community.

Some of the organizations that we are looking at:
(Note: We may update this with a main organization per quarter. I'll find out what the Ajah wants to do and will update.)

Covenant House - Covenant House shelters, feeds, and supports youth in crisis. Runaways, discarded, orphaned, lgbtq+, BIPOC, differently abled, all young people in need are fed, clothed and provided bed and counseling.

Trevor Project- LBGTQ teens in crisis.

You Are Not Alone- Hotline that those suffering from depression, mental illness, etc can call and reach out for support from their community.

RandomActs.org- Random acts of kindness each day, the world would become a much better place. These random acts can be anything from buying a meal for a homeless person to volunteering your time reading to children in the hospital, to donating money to worthy programs within your community.

Organizations that are more specific or local to group members:

Organization to help the Village of Wapa in Burkina Faso

Norma's House - We are a non-profit agency that provides services and programs to children who are alleged victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, children who have witnessed a violent crime, and drug-endangered children. We are an accredited member of Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc. and National Children's Alliance (NCA) and receive funding through grants, private donations, and fundraisers.

Legacy Ranch- Legacy Ranch is a non-profit Licensed Foster Care and Adoption agency that works directly with Child Protective Services to find homes for children who have been abused, neglected or exploited. We founded Legacy Ranch because, as foster and adoptive parents ourselves; we recognized the incredible need for safe and loving foster or adoptive homes for these children.

Our goal is to donate our time, monetarily or in other ways depending on each organization.

Through the month of February until the end of March 2021 the Green Ajah is focusing our efforts for Crisis Outreach towards Covenant House!

We have set up a campaign through their website! Our first goal is $500. You can donate directly or help us spread awareness by sharing our campaign link. :pleased-1: There are also Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn share links on the fundraising page too.

About Covenant House:

Covenant House provides shelter, safety, and loving care young people facing homelessness and trafficking in 31 cities across the United States, Canada, and Central America. In all 31 cities, every bed is full nearly every night. These young people cannot be sent home because Covenant House is their home. And will remain their home for as long as they need.

To meet this unprecendented crisis, Covenant House is serving hundreds more meals each week. Storage rooms, drop-in centers, and offices have been turned into quarantine spaces where staff can safely care for sick kids in isolation. These staff need medical and cleaning supplies, so they can stop the virus from spreading throughout the shelter. Beyond the health risks, the economic and social implications of the virus are already wreaking havoc on the lives of youth at Covenant House, more than 85% of whom have lost their jobs. Our support is their lifeline.

Fundraising Goal: $1000
Raised so far: $760

Aleita also created some awesome sigs below if anyone would like to use them!

If you have any questions, please let us know! :joy :green

Another opportunity to help: Volunteer at or donate to IMAlive.

From their website:
IMALIVE is a program of the Kristin Brooks Hope Center (KBHC), a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

Our focus is suicide intervention, prevention, awareness, and education.

We provide help and hope through online crisis chat, educational college events, and awareness campaigns.

Depression is treatable. Suicide is preventable.

Ways you can help:

Donate to would-be volunteers so they can get their HEART certification
Every single IMAlive volunteer has crisis intervention training and certification, but it comes at a cost: $250 per volunteer, to be exact. For dozens, possibly hundreds of people who want to help, that price tag is the only thing that stands between them and saving lives. If you'd like to help in a way that will have lasting impact, consider donating a little or a lot to help these future volunteers. You can find a full list here: https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/imalive/

Sign up to volunteer yourself

There is a time and money commitment required in order to take this step. The training itself is quite extensive, and then you must commit to working regular (but short) shifts for twelve months once you've completed it. However, speaking as someone who's already taken the leap: I cannot overstate how invaluable what I have learned and what I am doing is. Not just for the people I am helping and will continue to help, but to my own soul as well. You can learn more about volunteering right over here.

Donate to IMAlive as a whole

If you can't volunteer and the idea of looking over a list is exhausting, you can support the organization as a whole by donating here.

Tell people they exist.
Far too many people I know desperately need support, but can't or won't call a crisis hotline due to phone anxiety or other factors. This is a chat-based environment that makes things comfy and safe no matter where you are or what your circumstance is.

I wanted to update here our progress here!

The Green Ajah chose to donate our $150 (thanks to the Tower :love ) to Covenant House! @Arisaema Draconis matched that donation :hug and we now have surpassed our final goal of $1,000 with $1,060 total donated to Covenant House this year!

Thank you to everyone who helped us with our crisis outreach and being amazing Servants of All. :fistbump
We couldn't have done this without you! :yoda

Also, thank you to all of the Greens who gave their time, donations and/or volunteered throughout the year! I know Covenant House was not the only focus for our members this year. Your kindness, dedication and passion towards helping others is outstanding! <3 You truly are Servants of All!
