Greetings and hello!

Enough of us have shown interest in reading or re-reading Mistborn, so I figured we'd have a thread where we can do a read-along! We'll set a pace for everyone to read together, but do not let that stop you from getting further ahead if you so desire!

For the time being, we will focus on the first Trilogy of books.

Here is the layout for Book 1 with links to the annotations for each chapter.:

Hiiiii!

Because of ADD and anxiety, Leala is a slow reader, but she's also 43% or so done with the first book already.

My usual pace for this book is about 10-20 pages or 2-3 chapters a week.

I'm in, unless y'all want a blistering pace. :pleased-1:

Unlike Wheel of Time where the chapter pace was roughly 20 pages per chapter, Sanderson's chapters are merely a suggestion.

We have 38 chapters and an Epilogue in Mistborn's first book. We could do roughly 3 chapters a week if that's a manageable pace.

It's a 541 page book, so that would be an average of 42 pages a week.

Is that too much for you? I'm reading the American mass market paperback, which is 641 pages. That's why I want to do it by chapters and not page numbers.

Nah, I think I can do it. It's just about on the edge, though.

If you guys don't mind, I'll likely be ahead of ya'll. Though, there is a chance you'll catch up. I'll come in with commentary and still be part of the discussion, though. :pleased-1:

Now, as an added bonus, Sanderson on his website did do annotations for this book, so you get an inward glimpse at how he did things.

I would suggest to read these AFTER you finish the book though, as they will spoil a lot of things.

Does everyone that wants to be included already have the book at the ready? I'm thinking we start tonight and go through next Tuesday night.

Winterdawn will probably join in as well. And we own it three times (and really want a fourth), so we're perfect.

This has all been possible because you stated in the other thread that you had been reading Mistborn.

I blame you.

If you don't already have the books, I think the links to buy them on Brandon Sanderson's website are affiliate links so he gets more of the profit if you use them. :look:
