Please use this form to track
  • Collective group efforts (1 submission per group per activity)
  • Individual efforts outside of group-wide endeavors (1 submission per person per activity)
Time, money, and donations are listed as possible ways of giving. There is also an "other" option to be specified by you in case what you or your group does simply doesn't fall in line with any of these three choices. Be sure to quantify whatever it is you did. Also, if you have any supporting documentation -- the last question is a file upload option to share any photos or certificates you have; we are operating on the honor system, so this is not required but merely encouraged. :)

Try now! I didn't change the setting from default, which restricted viewing to members logged into an @tarvalon.net account. My apologies.

It is working for me now, thankyou!

Also is there a starting date of when to count our volunteering efforts from? For example, I have volunteered all year, but perhaps this is meant to have started in November? My apologies if this is listed clearly elsewhere, I am on limited data and not easily navigating the mobile version of the forums on my phone :cheeseeni:

Thank you to everyone who has used the tracker so far! I'm going to try and do monthly updates, sharing what people are doing starting at the end of January/beginning of February. So use this thing! Share what you're doing, so we can celebrate you. :)

Do our tracking things need to reflect our group focus or can they be for anything?

Anything!

The hope is that group-specific activities would reflect what your groups chose, but if you are doing something individually -- you do you. :)

Mwahahah, it is time!

From December 22, 2020 up until today, here's how our community has helped:
  • @Arella Mathara, @Jocasta Braithe, and I have been repping the "Of All and None" group by donating to different things we find to be important. Arella, I don't read Norwegian and failed at trying to translate it manually and using my phone. But one donation was something for pets! The other just said "Donation" in Norwegian and I am lost. But I am sure it is an amazing cause! Jocasta donated to GreatNonProfits/In Her Presence. I donated funds to help pay for funeral expenses for a local child that passed away, and also donated to the ACLU of Tennessee.
  • @Zashara Sho'am of the Browns donated $600 to a food bank. That's a lot of food, and I'm sure it's helped many people. :D
  • @Sonea Ilandred of the Blues adopted a puppy from a kill shelter in Romania. I've enjoyed seeing pictures of your puppy on Facebook!
  • @Imzadi Hopewind of the Grays donates the equivalent of $70 every month to support an animal shelter, deaf children in Kenya, and the SOS Children Village in Nepal. I'm inspired by your efforts to reach out to help in different parts of the world. :)
  • @Ninya Evoneigh, @Melisande Arneil, and @Tree have been doing quite a bit of work for the Greens! Ninya logged a donation totally $170 for The Trevor Project, registered for the highest level of GISH which gives back to True Colors United, and gave $150 to a youth who needed to make ends meet. Meli gave $100 to United Way and $100 to Kids Help Phone Saskatchewan. Tree donated $30 to Dry Feb which benefits the Canadian Cancer Society; she also donated $100 to an unknown cause.
Reading all of these submissions has really brightened up my day. :D I've had 2 crazy busy days at work, and I just wanted to come home and crash. But this helps. Y'all rock.

(Also, I'm going to add a field or two to the form to hopefully clear up some confusion going forward. Thank you for your patience! This is the first time I'm trying to something of this scope, and I'm only human. )

Oh, I did write a bit about the donation in English and included a screenshot of that with my submission. At least I meant to and have the note on my phone still, I do forget stuff sometimes though :look:

But yes, one was for an organisation caring for homeless and lost pets.

In Her Presence is a local organization to me created and run by women who immigrated to the US to help empower and advance other immigrant women, they help with English language learning, health and wellness, cross cultural understanding, economic opportunities, and all sorts of other things. They are a fantastic group and their website is here if anybody's interested. https://inherpresence.org/

March Update!

This month we had 7 members donating things on their own and one group-organized activity.
  • Roheryn spends Wednesdays (1.5 hours almost every week) volunteering at a soup kitchen. The kitchen feeds 65-80 meals during that time.
  • Jocasta donates $10 from every paycheck to the Ronald McDonald House.
  • Arella ran a Facebook fundraiser in honor of her birthday for Stine Sofie's Foundation. They work hard to support children, from child abuse to child advocacy and support. Her efforts raised approximately $425.
  • Mieriana donated $70 to the Animal Welfare Institute, ASPCA, and Feeding America. She also donated approximately $53 worth of toys to Toys for Tots back in December!
  • Cataia donated $10 to the Canadian Dry February Fundraiser.
  • Kyla donated $230 to the NAACP and $375 to the Trans Women of Color Collective.
  • Vivianna donated $150 in December for a variety of things, including a donation to a cash bail fund, purchasing goods to help with Alora's NICU bags, and ordering items from the VA wishlist in support of Mellaine's father. She also supported people through GoFundMe in November ($50) and January ($100), and donated $25 to support another friend via a Facebook fundraiser in November.
  • Val'Cueran adopted a wolf! They donated $250 to adopt a wolf at the Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center.
Legit, every month I get the warm fuzzies when I look and see what we're doing. Y'all are amazing. :hug

Also, if you've missed it, the Green Ajah is currently running a fundraiser in support of Covenant House and Lillian has launched our first Heroes of the Horn Challenge: Crafters Making Blankets! Check out both threads to find out opportunities to help. :)

March Update! :joy
  • Nymala (Blue Ajah) has started crocheting stars for a charity project, and as of 3/1/2021 she had spent 2 hours working on this. Nymala also volunteered at the SPCA for 5 hours.
  • Sonea (Blue Ajah) donated the equivalent of £23.96 in toys or £23.96 to pay for toys to a local animal sanctuary
  • Atreyu (SDS) shared the results of the Dry Feb fundraiser he organized: $1,150.39 raised! Many site members also donated. :)
  • Dar'Jen (Of All and None) donated $20 worth of food to her work's "Cram the Van" initiative to support Salvation Army efforts
  • Erin (Of All and None) donated $25 to MSF (Doctors Without Borders) through the WoW Pet Charity Program
  • Arella (Of All and None) donated $20 to MSF (Doctors without Borders) through the WoW Pet Charity Program
  • Ninya (Green Ajah) donated $348.66 to the GISH 2021: Change-A-Life Ecuador program
  • Jocasta (Of All and None) donated $25 to help a local family in need with surgery costs
  • Melisande (Green Ajah) donated $30.92 to support Dry February and $50 to Telemiracle 45
  • Juliya (Blue Ajah) donated to several different places: $50 to Movember (men's health charity focused on prostate cancer, testicular health, and mental health), $100 monthly donations to Power 2 Change (a Christian charity focused on helping athletes in universities), and $80 monthly donations to CRWRF which sponsors 2 families in Kenya
This month Lilli also kicked off our first Heroes of the Horn challenge. Members were challenged to crochet blankets/pads for animal shelters to be used in crates and cages. We also gathered one night and had a watch party while working on various crafting projects. :) April's challenge will be going up in the next few days, so look forward to it!

Remember, log your donations! :D I know I get ideas of how I can help out in my community and globally when I see what others are doing as well. Several members have asked if they can go and retroactively log things they've forgotten to log -- do it! As long as whatever you are logging happened on/after November 1, 2020, you are good. :D
