Rafe Judkins, one of the screenwriters for the show, has taken to dropping weekly tidbits in the form of script cover photographs, pointedly featuring the episode title. He's hashtagging these posts as #WoTWednesday.

Currently he's revealed Episode 1 is titled "Leavetaking," and Episode 2 is "Shadow's Waiting."

His twitter page is here.

Any speculation on what these episodes contain?

Well, Leavetaking is probably going to follow the book up to the point where they leave Emmond's Field. Not a whole lot that needs changing in there, I don't think. And then Shadow's Waiting is gonna be Baerlon and them getting to and then out of Shadar Logoth, maybe end where the party gets split up.

If they follow the same path that GoT has taken, the first book will be followed relatively faithfully because there aren't too many story lines to get caught up in. I'm not sure we'll see any major changes until a little down the road as we add in more characters and things get more complicated.

There has been some discussion of trimming later storylines (I think Perrin's journey through the Ways to close the Caemlyn gate was the main one I've seen mentioned) but I would agree that the first book has a pretty straightforward plot. Though putting Baerlon and ALL of Shadar Logoth into one episode seems like it would be moving pretty quickly.

I'm excited . . . but continue to be a little afraid that it won't meet my expectations.

Also, I'm a little tempted to get on the Twitter.

I had thought that through to Shadar Logoth would be three episodes, two does seem a bit rushed, but on the other hand, is Baerlon really worthy of a whole episode on its own?
Emonds Field is the first 9 chapters, they leave Baerlon chapter 17 (so 8 chapters) and they leave Shadar Logoth Chapter 20, so that really isn't worthy of an episode by itself

For #WoTWednesday this week, since I’m in Fiji where 30% of the population is Hindu (and the 10 dollar coin is actually a mandala of the Kalachakra or “Wheel of Time”) I thought I’d talk a little about the philosophy of the books and what I want to bring out in the series. One of my favorite things about the books is how they embrace eastern religions and philosophies and put them into an epic fantasy context in a way we haven’t yet seen in tv or film. I plan to lean heavily into the concept of reincarnation in the books and have spent a lot of time talking to people who believe in reincarnation to get a feel for how that affects not only your philosophy of the world, but also the every day way you live your life. I’d love to hear, too, about some of your favorite moments from the books that deal with reincarnation or being spun out again by the wheel of time (mine is Birgitte Silverbow’s return). Obviously, yin and yang and balance and duality are important eastern philosophical concepts from the books that I want to bring out in series, but we will save discussions on that for a future trip to China ;)

Also, thanks for posting that, Jeffan Sedai! :hug I recently got a Twitter account, so I could follow WoTWednesdays, but I don't have an Instagram.

Agreed, I was happy the minute he said he had a battered copy of TEotW.

He seems like he has a kind of dream job. Travelling around, writing ...

I liked reading peoples' comments on the post.

Yes, it always helps when you know the main showrunner is a longtime fan of te series he's adapting. He has the unique perspective of being able to come to it from a fan POV and understand that not just anything is going to make the series work visually.

That's interesting, does it mean they are not going to try to do the "racial characteristics" of each nation?
