There’s another Green, not Alanna or Kerene.
The actor appears to be Asian/Pacific Islander maybe? If I could hack into my husband’s Prime account on my phone I’d get a screen grab. :look:

Ah I tried to find clips from earlier when i quickly skimmed through but only caught her in the last scene. She looks cute but I am not sure they will give actors/actresses with no speaking roles bigger roles just randomly, but I could be wrong.. just trying to think what a casting team would do.. I am no expert on this but I don't think that is standard? :cheeseeni:

Thanks, Yenie. I’m no expert in the least. I don’t think Myrelle is a prominent character, but I thought it might be fun if we already had a few glimpses of her before her minor part in “warder healing” is possibly shown. :waggle

I agree, it would be cool to have seen the Aes Sedai a bit already. Although it would also be nice to see even more Aes Sedai, so I am torn, I guess!

I've re-watched it three more times and it just keeps getting better and better. I loved the first three, but I think this one really shows off the writing team and their vision for the show. It's so cool to me that they used an incredible amount of source material in order to "reconstruct" what Lan, Moiraine, and Nynaeve's time away from the others might have been like. I especially love that we are getting a much slower build up to Lanaeve that we got in the books. That's going to be incredibly special. Also, the callback to "or I'll slit your throat"??? And Lan's throat gets slit???? That's some damn fine writing.

Now that I've watched it over and over, I just want to bask in the foreshadowing. Because omg the foreshadowing.

  • Egwene being wrapped in a shawl with banded colors
  • Ila talking about finding her daughter killed with a spear, and thinking about picking it up to hunt down the killers but choosing not to-- unlike Morin, who chooses to pick up the spear to rescue her daughter.
  • Logain's army attacking the Aes Sedai trying to help Logain escape, basically the same tactic Perrin uses in LoC
  • Else/Helga Grinwell saying Birgitte "watches over me when everyone is asleep" !!!
  • Mat's red hand in the nightmare sequence
  • Nynaeve miraculously healing everyone in front of Logain just before he's severed
  • the way the dagger's evil and the shadow's evil opposes each other
  • Logain hears the voices of previous Dragons? Oh does he now
  • Rand telling Mat he'll always be there, no matter what, and Mat not acknowledging or responding [oh! my heart!]
  • Aram "some even take up arms I hear" eek
  • "how's the Amyrlin?" / "Still seated" double eek
  • "Reds protect the world from those who would misuse the One Power, even other Aes Sedai" ^ triple eek

I didn't catch Mat's red hand in the nightmare. Good catch!

The rest made me giggle. I didn't precisely catch the striped shawl/blanket on Eggy, but I did note that it had colours rather than just being a bright solid.

I warned people that the first couple episodes would be rough, if not downright terrible. They weren't bad (I still maintain that the first episode was less than good) but I was NOT expecting a full swing on the second week. I was expecting the last episode of the season to be good, not great, and for season 2 to start with a solid run and just get better and better. I'm impressed, and I understand the Amazon reviews are reflecting the dramatic improvement. Can't wait for episode 5!

I think it's more likely he hears the voices of madness, encouraged by the voices of Ishy and the other forsaken.

Thom's song is a bit of foreshadowing that Logain is not the Dragon.

The colors of his morning
The darkness of his night
Little graves that gave no warning
A sun that brought no light

He saw his whole world breaking
That tortured soul I met
In a prison of his making
The man who can't forget

I can still hear the way that he cried
For the ones he was missing
I can still hear the way that he cried
For the ones he had lost

He saw them in the rivers
He felt them in the rain
In dreams he heard them whisper
The truth that is his pain

He caused the whole world's breaking
That tortured soul I met
In a prison of his making
The man who can't forget

That song could be useful for newbies as it details some signs of the dragon like the memories. This might help understand why Logain uses the voices as his rationale for why he is the dragon. It doesn't say whether he is right or wrong in his opinion.

My own opinion is that they were madness or forsaken for him - but I'm always open to being wrong!

I don't know that I see the foreshadowing, but it's clear to me the song is about LTT

Good point. If there is truth in the song then it points to Logain being wrong about who he thinks the voices are. Unless there is more that he didn't tell Moiraine

I called that out to Mr. S when we were watching. I was like, "That's not very subtle if you know what you're looking at."

I really liked it as well. I like how Rand was able to break open the door, subtle signs of his power. I don't quite like how Logain was able to see Nynaeve's weaving, I wish that was something they kept from the books, but I understand their reasoning. I really wish they would have included Elyas, I like the relationship that forms and starts Perrin on the path of the Wolfbrother. Curious to see how they proceed with that.

I don't quite like how Logain was able to see Nynaeve's weaving

I heard through the grapevine somewhere that he couldn't actually see her weaves and that it was a combination of his Talent to see ta'veren, and him shielding himself from debris.

I really wish they would have included Elyas

Again, through the grapevine (I'm sure it's documented somewhere?) that Elyas is going to make an appearance, just not when he did in the books. I think they're doing it later on to help keep up the mystery of who the Dragon is.

Edited to add: I also think the line "like a raging sun" is a nod to the books where Siuan first sees Rand. She has a talent for seeing ta'veren, too, and at the end of EotW she sees Rand for a brief moment. She doesn't say anything then, but later tells Moiraine that she was absolutely petrified because of the way he glowed, like Siuan knew he was going to tear the world apart. I might be mistaken, but I think she might actually use the words "like a raging sun" in the books.

Though that's all speculation on my part.

Speaking of, I always had a little crush on Logain when I was younger. However, the actor is not quite as handsome as I pictured yet I admit his voice is excellent and I can't deny he has gravitas so will be interested to see how he develops on screen.

Yes - I do wish he was a bit more Logain-looking, similar to Ariel Burgess' portraits.

I was so afraid it was Mat that killed the family until I saw the Fade.

In the books I think it's Ishamael who says he whispered in the minds of various False Dragons through the ages, and Logain did say he heard all of the Dragons of the ages....maybe it's whispers that are just lumped in and blamed on the madness.

All of these! I loved this episode!! :love
