I don't think forkroot was widely known. When Nynaeve and Elayne are captured by Elaida's eyes and ears in one of the books, they didn't know about it. This is something I think Nynaeve would've known about and I think they talk about it.

I think that Fain (who possibly already had a run in with Mordeth, or they just merged the characters) is already aligned with Mashadar - but Mashadar is trapped in Shadar Logoth still. Notice how Fain started whistling, and it came out like an eager puppy? I think his plan was to wait until Mat (or someone) had the dagger out of the city, then pop up in their next port of call and buy it off them.

As for how they got the Yellow Sister, not all Aes Sedai have warders - they could have gotten her in her sleep, or by ambush with a sling from a distance. It's not a big stretch. And I'm sure her required calm to embrace the source went poof after they chopped off her hands...

That could be. I thought of forkroot as well, I did not think of her maybe being burnt out. Either way, it seemed odd to me.

I loved it, as I feel like in the book, Moiraine talked down to Egwene there, but in the show, I loved that she approached her in a much more open, positive way.

While I can't get "Sing of Manetheren" out of my head, I'm plagued why ole girl the queen didn't come to help? I mean obviously not to burn out right away, but surely fewer would have died if she had been there at the beginning?

My thought was she was there to protect and lead the exodus of the rest of the Manetheren civilians.

Yeah, it was my thought that Eldrene was there to protect the people inside the city.
