If anyone is considering donating supplies--I am a basic needs social worker and this is always what I get requested help for outside the usual non-perishable food items and I thought I'd share here. Hopefully it helps with getting people relief from the need to rebuild.

  • OTC meds (cold/flu, allergy, pain, heartburn, etc)
  • Hygiene tissue: toilet paper, kleenex
  • Baby supplies (wipes, diapers in all sizes, formula, solids baby food)
  • Adult care supplies (diapers and wipes again)
  • Sensitive skin care products (baby products are generally good for this and baby soaps can also usually be used safely on pets)
  • Various medical devices: Mobility assists, splints, commodes
  • Hygiene products
  • Pet food, supplies, and meds for various species, including horses (also long lead ropes--can be used for most large animals from dogs to horses!)
  • Feminine care kits--tampons and pads both along with non medicated chemical heating pads
  • Various bottled drinking fluids for both adults and kids for a variety of food needs
  • Gas station and pharmacy (CVS, Rite Aid, etc) gift cards
  • Store gift cards (Tractor Supply, Valu Home, Walmart)
  • Off grid hygiene: water filters, shower bags, solar water pumps/heaters, etc.

I am working with a fire department in Punta Gorda right now. We will be taking them supplies and monetary donations.
