Yeah I can't argue with it if it's true. Especially because they're crossing international borders all the time doing filming. I don't know how reliable it is, but it is the first squeak of a reason I've heard so it's interesting.

Ah. Well, that is less severe than what I had imagined, like he had done something illegal, but it is also such a stupid reason, if it is true. I have little sympathy for those who lose job/privileges because they don't want to do that small inconvenience.

(There are probably some who can't get the vaccine for various reasons. That is obviously a different story)

Iirc, in the Dusty Wheel episode 8 watch with Brandon Sanderson, he said that they had to scramble to rewrite the last two eps. So, I'm guessing quite a bit?

That doesn't track though with UK vaccines. Filming restarted in April 2021 and wasn't available to anyone under 30 under the end of May 2021. I guess he could have told Amazon he wasn't going to get vaccinated, but that's not the tone of this article.

If true, I agree with the decision but MAN DOES THAT SUCK. Mat was one of my top favorite in the books and Barney Harris did him so, so, so well. Better than I could have hoped. I initially was okay with his replacement, but that was before I had watched any episodes. Finn just looks too sweet, and less how they've scheduled Mat's route.

Dammit. I hate this.

LotR does start in early September, but eight episodes puts it ending October 7 if they do the same 3-episode starter release or the 21st if they do one a week the whole time. If they did the same release schedule as last year and started WoT on November 18th with a 3-episode start, it would end on Christmas Eve. And there would still be a 1-2 month gap. So that's my hope.

Been watching The Witcher recently

and I couldn’t help but notice there was none of that “fake sound stage feel” in the sets that bothered me for a lot of WoT

felt far more grounded.


Hopefully we can see more of that in WoT. The last two episodes felt like a much better step in that direction.
