I'm obsessed with the posters released today. Everyone looks so good!

Also, someone on Twitter noticed that they connect together in a really cool way:

I love those posters!
And looking at them like that, it is very obvious who the main character truly is :P

Yup. A few other interesting bits: Perrin's weave looks like a wolf, Rand's obviously looks like a shield/cage.

Most interesting/emotional to me... (hidden for end of series spoilers)

Egwene's is a column of light. :(

I was going to say Egwene's looks like a tower, but . . . yeah, that too.

Mat's maybe vaguely has the shape of a dagger? Not that we know what the dagger will look like. I might have lengthened it to be a spear instead. But really, it looks like it's wrapping his left arm, which I can't manage to read any symbolism into so matter how hard I squint. :-p

Ahh it could just be meant to be a tower, that's true!

IGN has a set of cast interviews on YouTube.

I transcribed it.

Two things: Barney makes a note that Mat comes from poverty, and Daniel emphasizes that Moiraine and Lan are very platonic. That's the third time in as many days this has been emphasized-- Rafe notes the Warder bond is usually platonic in his trailer breakdown, Rosamund talked about his much she likes portraying their very platonic relationship when she called into The Dusty Wheel, and now Daniel is going out of his way in an interview he clearly gave over a year ago.

They reeeeeaaaaallly do not want people to ship them, lmao. Sorry. It's gross and I'll judge them for it but nothings gonna stop that particular train.

To be fair, the books also emphasize that Moiraine and Lan are extremely platonic. The more that I think about it, they emphasize that the vast majority of bondings are platonic. Myrelle in particular is given a bunch of grief for sleeping with/marrying her warders.

Oh for sure, they're being incredibly book-accurate here. I think they're just having to emphasize it to the viewing audience so much because Rosamund is right-- it is extremely rare to see 1) two people of the opposite gender who are 2) within the "half your age plus seven" age range and 3) both very attractive not be in a romantic relationship on-screen. Now that I've laid it out like that, I'm not sure I've ever seen that.

Reminds me of reading Modesty Blaise as a kid, she had a beefcake partner/sidekick. That's one of the only examples I can think of.

But yeah, I suppose setting up Nynaeve with him might be an uphill struggle to begin with for many audiences. But wasn't it kinda like that in the books, too?

One of the scenes from a teaser already shows him putting himself in front of her in defense, which gives me hope that they've found a good way to develop their relationship visually. Honestly I think it'll be even more obvious on-screen because we can probably get a better feel for their emotions since those internal feelings aren't really described in the books until they explicitly talk about their "relationship" in Fal Dara.

Yeah the early trailers seem to show warders in combat moving in perfect tandem with their AS, dodging just as they throw a fireball over their heads, etc.

New sneak peek seems to confirm that the dragon can be reborn as a man or a woman in this version of the story: https://mobile.twitter.com/FANologyPV/status/1455928084230598658

More importantly (to me), Moiraine's costuming is VERY queer-coded. Suspenders and fingerless gloves, oh my!! My little queer heart is so hopeful that we'll see her and Siuan have an on-screen romance.

Also, I just learned that RJ said some ages did spin out a female equivalent of the dragon. Not the same soul, but a female hero who would be the champion in the last battle. That seems to me close enough to the dragon being potentially male or female to make this change an acceptable jump from canon.

"The Pattern has three graces, or self-correcting mechanisms, to make sure it does not drift off-course, and remains in balance on the whole: ta’veren, Heroes of the Horn, and finally, the ultimate Hero and ta’veren, the Dragon (in some Ages). There is a female saviour equivalent, Amaresu, who we saw among the Heroes, who is born in other Ages as required (Robert Jordan at booksignings). There may be Ages where no such saviour figure, male or female, is required."

Egwene's is a column of light. :(

I just noticed that the weave in the posters does not touch Mat. It stops and almost turns back from him. The aura around his side and arm is a different color (and I posit, comes from the dagger.) Interesting, already we're referring way forward in the series - the foxhead medallion prevents the power from touching Mat.

Jordan was so deliciously snarky. A treasure.
