I totally agree about The Banner Saga - I would love to see the WoT look like that. :)

I'd love a live TV series - you could probably cover 1-2 books per season, maybe more during some of the slower middle books.
For some reason I've always pictured Summer Glau as Nynaeve, since the first time I read the character.

As long as it doesn't turn out like the Legend of the Seeker. That was a bad adaptation of an awesome book series.

For an animation series, I think that something like what they did for the CG portion of Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit would probably be best. That way, yes, it's obviously animation, but, it's also really, really close to human form. You'd have the organic human movements being used in the CG realm of the movie--I'm thinking like where Andy Serkis splashes around in a stream and they replaced him with the Gollum CG but because he was actually there splashing around in the stream, the water movements coincide with Gollum's movements). Real elements like water, wind, snow, non-water liquid, fire, smoke, and non-human living organisms (animals, plants, etc) could be used really effectively.

You also wouldn't really have to worry about changing actors halfway through for whatever reason (death, other commitments, etc). For instance, in Once Upon a Time, they've tried using the actor playing the youngest character in flashbacks to when he was eleven. Unfortunately, he changed so much in the three years that the show has been on that it was really obvious, poorly done, and not overly effective. With the characters of Egwene, Rand, Mat, and Nynaeve, the series takes place over the course of only a few years (in some cases, the books themselves take place over the course of just a few days!), but because there are so many books to work into filmography form that the aging factor is going to be noticeable. :\
