Do you know just the right location for a fantastic party? Is there a location in your vicinity that you want to help us explore? Please let us know about it!
Fill out this form and if your bid is of interest to us, we will contact you for further information. If there are some details you don't know, just say so and we can get back to it.

Keep in mind that we are accepting bids for either a Conference style party (cabin or other location where the Tower makes the food and entertainment) or a Tourist party (in a location with sights away from our lodging to see and enjoy).

Things to keep in mind when submitting a bid:
  • If your bid is selected, you will be an integral part of the planning. By making a bid, you are volunteering to be the local liaison.
  • Typical events take place from Friday (afternoon) to Sunday (morning), and can be held virtually at any time of year. We are also looking at events that run Friday afternoon to Monday morning.
  • Conference style events are generally held in a campground/bunkhouse type location. The site should have cabin-like living arrangements, kitchen space for meal preps, and spaces for events like sword fighting, tournaments, and other activities. Typical site locations are moderately isolated but we highly encourage easy transportation. We tend to be fairly loud so being 10 feet from a cabin holding a Scout meeting, or a religious conference may not be the best arrangement for either party.
  • Tourist events are generally held in a hotel style location and in a location with easily accessible sites to see. Traditionally these have only one catered meal that will also need to be arranged by the Local Liaison.
  • Normal Euro attendance is between 15 and 20 people.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to send us an email to euevents.tarvalon@gmail.com and events@tarvalon.net

Deadline: January 11th

Dang, the requirement for swordfighting leaves the Helsinki-Stockholm ferries out.

We don't HAVE to have swordfighting. We haven't actually had that as long as I can remember. And that is for Conference style events. A cruise would be more like a Tourist style event, or maybe a nice combination.

Not sure if less than a month is enough for people to choose and research though. This is a great event which needs more chance to succeed.

Necro post. Only thread suitable so.

I know my own reasons for not putting in a bid is having the stress of organizational skills in arranging. Research is fine though.
Plus it feels like a low ebb has fallen since COVID and so on.
I don't want the Euro party to die out.

Is it necessary to have someone in the country? I mean there are many European countries with cheapish holiday destinations. Majority of the representatives speak English have English websites to book places. I mean many English people just up and move to Spain, Greece etc without knowing language. Couldn't we just book a place like that without having a person responsible. Because I think that is what puts people off.

I didn't mind helping last year but I don't know if I'd have time to do the whole thing, looking for a place, booking, etc...

It doesn't have to be in your country, as long as it is a location where you have the knowledge of what we can expect.
The most important thing is to have a place where we can have some degree of privacy and knowing what to expect with regards to food.

What most prevents me from organising an event all on my own is my physical restrictions. I cannot do all of the shopping and cooking etc on my own. That is why I suggested the cruise option.

I know a place in Sweden which is nice, but does only have 14 beds and maybe another place after my language course in September. The first one is not wheelchair friendly though. But maybe the one where we will be staying this year. I can let you know, if it's a possible good location once I have been there.

My issues with finding a location in Norway is that it doesn't allow alcohol, or it doesn't have amneties like showers (or bathroom at all, or running water etc ;) ) and of course that it is EXPENSIVE!
That is really all that I need to know about a location. Price, allows alcohol and that it has indoor toilet and showers.

I live near Avebury, an iron age henge and Stonehenge, Oxford. I'm in the middle.
I know there's a few forum people in the three counties and so on.
I'd love to co liaise etc with someone or get help. Otherwise my anxiety would go boom
