Ok....There are so many amazing things that happen in this book.

First off, Elayne can make ter'angreal. How awesome is that!? I haven't completed the series yet and am excited to see if she makes some awesome things.

Second, Nynaeve cured stilling!! This kind of shocked me at first. I am wondering what the Aes Sedai are planning on doing with Logain now that he is healed.

Third, Egwene. She entered Tel'aran'rhoid in the flesh, she figured out how traveling for women was done, AND she was raised Amyrlin!!

I was really happy that Perrin was brought back in this book. It seemed like a long time since he was last heard of.

The battle between the Shaido, Elaida's emissary, the Asha'man, and the Salidar emissary/Perrin's band and wolves was amazing. It was one of my favorite parts of the book. Things are definitely going to change especially now that the first Aes Sedai have sworn to the Dragon Reborn!

What were your thoughts on the book?

It was definitely one of my favorites so far, for many of the same reasons - it was such an active book, plot-wise. Seeing the Salidar women discover things lost since the Breaking was particularly cool - especially because the biggest discoveries (Traveling, ter'angreal and healing stilling/gentling) were entirely the work of the three women themselves (rather than being handed to them by their unwilling companion).

The battle was confusing as hell in places, but I believe that to be entirely understood, particularly the parts where they weren't sure whether something was happening because of an ally, an enemy, or another party to the battle as yet unknown. I suspect that battle in particular was a deep reflection of Jordan's experiences in Vietnam - it certainly stands out as a contrast to other depictions of fantasy battles.

Definitely a lot of the same for me, as far as so many interesting things happening. There is not much that I could add to that.

Major epic, climactic battle, pulling in seemingly almost everyone.

And the bit right at the end where the narrative goes, "...the first Aes Sedai swore fealty to the Dragon Reborn, and the world was changed forever." That sent chills up my spine, which is always awesome.

This book is one of my favorites in the series but so much happened that it could have been made into more than one book!

I think this was the first book where I realized I was totally hooked on something that was going to be epic. The previous books had me interested obviously, but this one I got really excited about. So many cool things happening!

Lord of Chaos is my favorite in the series so far- I've read up through book 10. The ending is so EPIC!!

I just read the part where Aviendha gets to Salidar and tells Elayne about her and Rand. Elayne's hand "twitched towards the knife before she crossed her arms." I laughed out loud at that one!

Lord of Chaos is certainly one of my favorites. The battle scene at the end, of course, being the main reason why I particularly enjoyed this book. When Perrin called for the help of the wolves and the wolves responded with, "We come." I certainly felt some chills.

It was actually the first WoT book I read - as my dad bought it for me without seeing that it was the sixth book in a series.

The battle scenes did make this book one of the best -- so many seem chaotic and messing but Jordan really made it seem real but understandable.

Rolling Ring of Earth and Fire is still one of my favourite moments in the entire series.

the battle was incredible. when the flag comes up above the shield they create omg… was just so good.

now heres my question though…

the dark lords orders...the lord of chaos… was that code name for Rand or was the order just to increase chaos

I read it as a bit of a subtle insult to Rand, its a reference to the Feast of Fools.

The Feast of Fools
Celebrated in Tammaz (in Arad Doman and the Borderlands) or Saven (everywhere else), the exact day varying according to locality. A day in which all order is deliberately inverted; the high perform lowly tasks (running errands, serving at table, etc.) while the low do no work and give orders to their usual superiors. In many villages and towns the most foolish person is given a title such as the Lord/Lady of Unreason/Misrule/Chaos or the King/Queen of Fools. Not an honor sought, but for that one day everyone has to obey whatever orders, however foolish, are given by the chosen one. (Called the Festival of Unreason in Saldaea; the Festival of Fools in Kandor; Foolday in Baerlon and the Two Rivers.)

Basically in my opinion saying let the fool Rand have his day, his time will come.

I actually didn't really care for LoC that much. A lot of really awesome stuff happened, and I REALLY liked that, but there was a LOT of filler, and this is the first book (I think - they're starting to blur together in my memory) that started seeming to drag...

Yeah, I'm reading this one now (didn't read too much of this thread for fear of excessive spoilers, but I don't generally mind spoilers anyway :p). It's a lot better than Book 5 in terms of things actually happening throughout the book. Book 5 was cool for the final hundred or so pages, but the majority of it really didn't contribute too much to the overall plot (or could have been done in much shorter time). I'm about 65% through Lord of Chaos right now (reading on my Kindle, so I see the percentage constantly :-p), and I feel like stuff has actually happened. Elayne making ter'angreal, Nynaeve curing stilling, the mini adventure in Shadar Logoth, the nightmare attack in Tel'aran'rhiod... Also, a decent amount of stuff with the Forsaken, which has been cool - there haven't been too many Forsaken POV sections yet, and I love the glimpse back into the Age of Legends that it gives us. There are definitely still some pacing problems (I really don't need to watch Rand pop back and forth between Carhien and Caemlyn constantly, or watch people just wander about in Salidar), but it's at least a positive development compared to FoH.

I'm at about 65% in this book on my Kindle, too! I quickly skimmed through this thread for fear of reading another spoiler about the end of the book. Nynaeve curing the stilling/gentling was amazing. She's just amazing. I still think its epic that she's got Moghedien on a leash! LOL. I feel like something is about to happen with that whole situation though...

And Egwene as Amyrlin... I like it but I'm a little uneasy about it because she's more like a puppet for the other Aes Sedai right now. I hope that changes for her.

I need more Perrin! Hopefully there's more Perrin in this book!

Yeah, Egwene as Amyrlin was definitely interesting!! I love her raising Elayne and Nyneave Aes Sedai right away :-) And it's also a really cool chance to see all the Amyrlin ceremonies and see how things look from that point of view. I also love Egwene going all Aiel and demanding the chance to pay back her toh. :D

And I agree about Perrin. He wasn't in the last book, like, at all, so I hope he shows up soon!
