Agreed Relli.

Aginor obviously got the short end of the stick for being killed in the first 5 minutes, guess they couldn't have him creating any more Darkspawn? :scratch

I'm listening to the audiobook of Towers of Midnight at the moment... and darn, Egwene is really annoying :tug I like her when she stands up to The Hall (mainly because it pisses off Romanda, who is another character I dislike), but that's about it. Her relationship with Gawyn is so boring to read/hear "Oh I love him, but he must respect me, yet I won't explain it to him, oh no!" while he mantles about being brooding and whatnot. And then there's how she tries to deal with Rand. For all that she says over and over in the earlier books, that if you present him with an ultimatum and try to make him do what you want, he'll dig in his heels, she then tries to do exactly that when it comes to the seals. I've just listened to a short section from Egwene's point of view, and she's just so mule-headedly obstinate! "I am the Watcher of the Seals, you cannot break them, that will bring disaster!" She doesn't even listen to Rand's explanation of why (which does make sense, at least to me), she just gets on her high horse and charges off. Ugh :tug

Oh this is tough! After finishing my read of PoD, I have to say Faile or any of Rand's entourage during the Seanchan battle. So hard to keep up with the names.

Faile. Ruined the entire Perrin arc for me. I commented on another thread just now in contratemp to someone saying that cutting the descriptions and hyperbolic descriptions of clothing would cut out half the book. Well: cutting out 900,000 words (the feeling my brain couldn't shake when reading it) of Faile's capture and nonsensical feminine power play psychology would cut out even more!

I can't stand Cadsuane. Recently I picked up New Spring and opened to a random page, only to find out that Cadsuane was in it! I read New Spring first, terrible mistake, so I don't remember much of it except for the bit where Moiraine was torturing Lan with ants and stuff like that. Seeing her made me mad for some reason, I had to set the book down.

I don't remember Cadsuane in New Spring, so it must not have been a large part.
I also dislike her, and it makes me sad because I think she could have been a cool character if she had turned out like I think Jordan imagined her. And I don't totally blame Sanderson for that. I think Jordan's portrayal of her didn't hit what he probably meant for her, either. I think she was meant in spirit to be like Professor McGonagall: stern and holding you to high expectations but loving and beloved for it. That's my interpretation, anyway.

As nice a guy as he is, I grew to absolutely dread reading Perrin's POV sections by the end. Far too prolonged for content that unfortunately, just didn't interest me the way that Rand's and Mat's did. How dense--nay, woolheaded--can one man be?

Who I disliked the most, maybe Cadsuane as others have said. She always seemed like the non-union equivalent of Moiraine, a bit superfluous maybe...or Elayne.

Women, I don't like Aviendha and Tuon. Man - Perrin. He is boring and behaves like a slipper. Aviendha is conceited. Tuon? I really hate her...

Slipper meaning that Faile has him under control. She wears him and takes him off at will?

My least favorites: Gawyn Trakand and Elayne Trakand

So many characters fall into this category. I feel that there are so many uninteresting and Unnecessary characters that I don't know If I could pick just one.
Amongst MAIN characters I don't know if ONE Female was written in a way in which I can ever truly like her.
Moraine is as close as I get to Liking a female in this book and Maybe Birgitte..
Its not the character's fault, its just the way women in general are portrayed in the Novels. They are as*holes. and men are either As*holes or incompetent or both :)

WoT is a clearly matriarchal world. I even think the Creator is female; or has a female avatar (Nakomi). So, women have a sense of entitlement and superiority after nearly 3000 years or ruling Randland :) . When women praise a man, they sometimes say that "he thinks like a woman." Lol, sometimes it seems that the purpose of men in WoT are reproduction :waggle and menial tasks.

My least favorite characters:

Allana - She seemed cool until...
she bonded Rand (in a way that is considered as bad as rape) and then was used by other people.
Amathera

Romanda and Lelaine - sick of them going back and forth

Masema - no explination needed

Liandrin

Queen Morgase - Her love life

Nicola - I just wish someone would discipline her as she deserves

Pretty good list. Reminds me of Masema Dagar. Strange, I see him as a lunatic, not a character. I don't know what purpose he served in the books. In the end, he was snuffed out in the most dreary sub-plot: Faile rescue!

I agree with this list for sure. Amathera aka Thera... Ugh.
But I would add Gawyn Trakand to the list... He irritates the heck out of me...
Most characters have redeeming qualities or storylines that make me enjoy them at least some of the time (including the ones on Tobias' list) but I literally roll my eyes every time Gawyn is mentioned or it's his POV.

For Egwene haters (and I'm not one of them), he helped them get rid of her. The bloody fool started using the Seanchan ring ter'angreals, putting a month countdown timer on his life! I'm guessing he knew that Aes Sedai suffer greatly when their flaming warders die. And so he put that added burden on Egwene's shoulders in the bloody middle of the Last flaming Battle!

I doubt Taringail Damodred was his father. Morgase must have bedded a dim-whit to account for Gawyn's cognitive faculties.

That's the Biggest reason I dislike him. He was already a Selfish P*ick. But then he screws her over in his desire to prove he is awesome. He was super vain. Don't like him at all :)
Galad however I kind of like....
