Greetings, everyone! I'm Dilyena Aythaem, new to the White Tower :moon
I'm certainly not the first or last to say that I have just begun my first read through of WoT--I am sprinting through TDR and savoring every moment of it. Firstly, I have been appreciating the kind welcome, as I am sure there is a new surge of community members since the show began airing.
Who is your favorite character in The Wheel of Time and why?
Talk to me about: specialty coffee brewcraft, cooking, psychology, religion, dogs, and anime!:yes

:reading
I have known about the series for many moons, and the first two books have been sitting on my Nook, taunting me, intimidating me for about 9 years. A friend of mine finally shoved me into the deep end, and I don't regret it. Being a firm believer in read-before-you-watch, I don't have a plan to watch the TV series.Who is your favorite character in The Wheel of Time and why?
Perrin Aybara, everyone. He is wonderfully complex and I have a lot of empathy for him. He also reminds me of my two best friends, smooshed into one character.
How did you find TarValon.Net?I love to cook, so I wanted to see if there was a wiki-esque article listing all of the food mentioned in WoT, which brought me to this page. I realized this was more than just information about the series, and happily found a wonderful community! Sadly, there aren't many foods decribed in detail that I have found so far. However, I do have plans of WoT-inspired recipe development (stay tuned)!
What do you do?I work in OCD and anxiety research, managing studies that provide free mental heath services for people, especially children. I'll be applying to Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs later this year.
What is your favorite book or author other than Robert Jordan and The Wheel of Time?Too many to list: Ursula K. Le Guin, Tolkein, GRRM, Robin Hobb, N. T. Wright, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer are those who come to mind.
