[Open] Hiring: Social Media Team

The Social Media Team is responsible for our presence on all social media platforms, and we need your help!

I'm looking for new team members that are interested in social media, want to learn more about it, and have fun with it.


Duties and responsibilities

• Focus on one of our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Pinterest, Reddit, TikTok, Tumblr, or Twitter)
• Assist with scheduling posts as needed
• Share news and content as tasked
• Engage with the Wheel of Time community through posts, comments, reshares, DMs etc
• Be up to date on ongoing topics within the Wheel of Time community. This includes news about The Wheel of Time TV-show, new book releases from Brandon Sanderson, and other relevant news and anniversary relevant to WoT
• Help drive interest and traffic to TarValon.Net forums and Discord through a consistent social media presence

This is a team effort, no single team member is responsible for everything listed here.


Expectations

• Actively engaging and participating in the Social Media Team Forum and Discord Channel
• Be tactful and considerate when providing feedback and edits to fellow staff members
• Be reliable! Let the Social Media Manager know if you will be out of reach for some time

Time Commitment

• Must be willing to spend up to 7 hours a week at this position, across the TarValon.Net forums, Discord and social platforms, during a busy week. Normally 1-2 hours spread across all seven days will be sufficient
• The ability to check on the Social Media Staff Board at least once a week is a necessity for this position

Qualifications

• Must have been a member of TarValon.Net for at least 6 months*. Open to any rank; Citizen or above
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must enjoy social media interactions
• Must adhere to TarValon.Net member Code of Conduct when engaging on social media
• Must follow TarValon.Net’s social media rules when engaging on social media
• Must understand the sensitive nature of social media and, therefore, maintain and promote the culture of inclusivity as is consistent with our membership standards

The Social Media Manager is always available to give guidance as needed

Reminder that this is always open! Most team members have one focus area and don't work on creating content - so don't worry about this being a too strenuous position. It's really not! If you are able to spare an hour or so each week engaging with the WoT community on one of our platforms, especially Facebook or Instagram, that would be a great help! Twitter is covered but I need help on all the others, so come join the team

We are looking for people to interact with followers on our platforms as well as help with creating content. This could be designing graphics, looking up funfacts about WoT, writing down quotes during a reread (or rewatch), or even making quizzes!
