We are looking to add more Social Media Team members.

The Social Media Team (SMT) is an exciting team within the Department of Communications & Media (C&M)! As such, we’re looking for additional experienced and fun loving individuals with a passion for social media.

This position is non-rotating and staff report to the Director of Communications & Media. Those who join the Social Media Team are eligible for the Staff Merit.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Engaging through social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, and TikTok.
• Sharing TarValon.Net news, including but not limited to membership announcements and TarValon Talks podcast episodes.
• Brainstorming and creating new engaging content.
• Preparing, scheduling, and editing social media posts.
• Actively engaging with the community in response to comments and direct messages.
• Curating interesting and engaging content from like minded communities and information sources.
• Monitoring ongoing topics of interest for news and updates (such as WoT-related media, book releases by Brandon Sanderson, etc).
• Driving traffic to the TarValon.Net forums/Discord through consistent posting and engagement.
• Discovering new channels, partnerships and ways to engage socially.

Expectations

• Actively engaging and participating in the Social Media Team forum and Discord channel.
• Be tactful and considerate when providing feedback and edits to fellow Social Media teammates.

Time Commitment

Ability to check on the Social Media Staff forum on a regular basis is a necessity for this position.

Qualifications

• Must have been a member of TarValon.net for at least 6 months. Applicants may be of any TarValon.Net community group.
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must enjoy social media interactions.
• Must adhere to TarValon.Net member Code of Conduct when engaging on social media.
• Must follow TarValon.Net’s social media rules when engaging on social media.
• Must understand the sensitive nature of social media and, therefore, maintain and promote the culture of inclusivity as is consistent with our membership standards.
