As you know, twice per year a lot of hiring goes on - especially in the department of Moderators! Volunteering as a moderator is a great way to contribute to the Community, get your name out there as someone who would like to give back, and as a way to start getting to know the administration and how it works
These positions will all have an application deadline of June 23, 2010 and will start their term on July 1. Expect to be notified the last week of June about the status of your application. All of these positions will be 6 month terms, and if you find that you're really enjoying your job, then you'll need to reapply each time the jobs become available. With all of these positions I do ask that you do your best to stay for the entire term for consistency, though I know that unexpected things happen. Each moderator is a staff member in the department of Moderators and will report to the Director which is me!
As I said when hiring for job hunters, long applications are not necessary for any of these positions, but it would be useful to us to get a feel for how often you are online, your usual availability, as well as a brief bit on your experience in the Community. If you are online at a regular day and time, please provide that information. This is definitely our most time-consuming moderator position and will likely require more closely working with me than others.
