Hi!
Nice to meet you all :) I'm a student from Sweden doing the final year of my masters degree, its cool to see quite a few other fellow nordics here!

I am currently on my first ever read of the books, I started about three months ago and right now I'm nearing the end of Winter's Heart. It feels like I've been flying throught them, and like half my waking thoughts (and dreams too for that matter...) are about WoT haha. But I've been going crazy from not having anyone to discuss the books with, which is why I'm so happy to have found this site. I'm excited for the last few books, I just want to speed through them because its getting really hard to keep avoiding spoilers online :P

I'm already trying to decide on what to read after I finish the series (and prequel). I've heard a lot of good stuff about Sanderson's other books, but I would also maybe like to read some stand alone fantasy, so that starting it doesn't have to feel like as big a undertaking. I've been thinking about The Priory of the Orange Tree, anyone have any other tips?

Welcome! I also took the route of reading something else after finishing Wheel of Time last summer when I completed my first read of the series and I think it was a very good decision before I began reading Sanderson's vast array of books which I've really been enjoying thus far! Priory of the Orange Tree is a book I can not recommend highly enough! It's my favorite book and a fantastic read. :joy:

What have been some of your favorite moments so far in WoT and favorite characters?

Alright nice to hear, I'll probably try that one then :D

I'm a sucker for romance haha, so I think my favorite moments have been when people confess their love or get toghether <333

Welcome to TVN! So many wonderful books to chase down after WoT. I'm reading through some various Kim Stanley Robison books (SciFi); but am also finishing a re-read of WoT (on the AMoL right now, so very close!).

Ah exciting! How long has the reread taken you? I feel like its hard to know how long it "should take" to get through the series:unsure:

Hello & welcome Lorissa! Been reading since spring of 2021 and I only just finished Lord of Chaos so it sounds like you are making quick work of a great series! I remember while reading Eye of the World I was having dreams about the series as well!

Hello and welcome, Lorissa! You're definitely not the only one who ends up with WoT-themed dreams.

Actually, this (reread) is one of the reasons I love TVN. I had reread the series a couple of other times before joining TVN. I then joined TVN and was doing the TVN reread read-along that some of the Senior Members host. I normally read to fast and miss a lot of stuff (or forget stuff). Doing the read along, forced me to slow down and enjoy the journey (as well as savor some of the nuances).

This time around the reread has taken me almost a year (I know FOREVER!). But I have been really enjoyed this "turning".

Welcome to TarValon.Net! :D

If you want Brandon Sanderson but not a full series, he just released Tress of the Emerald Sea (link is to his shop but it's available elsewhere in other formats). I haven't read it yet (even though I own it), but I've read almost all of his other stuff and fell in love with it, so I'm sure this one will be great.

Welcome welcome!!
I'm also on my first read of the series, though you're much quicker than me  I started in December 2021 and I'm currently on book 8. I do kind of like that it takes me such a long time to read the whole series, I really can't imagine how it will be once the last page is turned and there's no more WoT to read :ohnoes:
