WE CHALLENGE YOU TO BECOME A HERO IN YOUR COMMUNITY!
VV7hzAU.png

Our June challenge has been chosen!
We challenge you to CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET!

This month's spotlight is on the Green's cause of Crisis Outreach and helping displaced persons.
One of the first things that people need in a crisis is clothing. Being displaced goes hand in hand with losing almost all, if not all, of the things you own. This includes clothing.

Clean out your closet this month and post pictures! Share memories! Then please donate to your local shelter, half-way house, or other organization that will pass the clothes along to those who need them.

If you need help finding a shelter local to you, please just ask and we can help!

If you already cleaned out your closet this year, you can still help financially by donating to the cause the Greens feel most passionate about: Covenant House .
Covenant House has been helping displaced youth since 1972.

:joy This is awesome!!

I cleaned out my closet while I was packing for the move. Finances are kind of tight right now, but!

I could definitely use some help finding a charity still.

Because Ignis and I currently have about 2 kitchens' worth of kitchen ware, due to 3 rounds of roommates where I was the last to vacate the apartment on my end, and also family and friends giving us things when we moved in together. There was a charity that I had planned on using for larger things before I moved that gave to people recovering from homelessness. If we could find something similar in or around Rockford, IL to donate our unwanted kitchen items, instead of tossing them in the dumpster, that would be AMAZING.

My family usually donates most household products to Salvation Army up in their neck of the woods. :D

I also have a ton of things to clean out of my closet and donate! :wave

I'll do it! I've been needing to, I've just been so busy, but this is a good kick in the pants!
I'm wondering if there's any good ones near me, I looked at that link and there wasn't a bit for Texas.

Texas is now in the master list! Just drill down starting with North America -> U.S. -> West Region.

As far as this challenge, again, let one of us know if you're having trouble finding relevant resources in your area :)

I'm late to the party but I'm currently going through my closet and have pulled out 36 items so far to donate. My wardrobe now is less than half what it previously was  I'm getting rid of everything that doesn't fit anymore save a few nostalgic things that I'll have made into a blanket :)

I'll update this with the total number when I'm done but I'm taking a break atm
