For me Earth Day is Every Day

This, 100%.

Yeah, that's awesome, Natalya! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do anything for the Earth Day on Saturday. Next time I go on a walk around my neighborhood and it's recycling time, I will bring a bag and gloves with me to pick up the trash that gets left behind after the trucks are gone.

Every Thursday is Earth Day during my walks in windy Kansas. The area is usually pretty clean, but the wind sometimes picks up and even knocks over our garbage bins resulting in quite the mess.

And, yeah, we also reuse (plastic bags are always needed for my ceramics) and recycle here at home, too. I feel bad there's not a way to keep all the plastic out of landfills entirely (apparently it clogs up the recycling machines here :scratch Anyone have a different experience with your recycling centers?) so I take comfort in being able to at least delay the amount of time before they do end up in a landfill. It's still not ideal, though.

Woot woot! Shout out for Earth Day.

Oh goodness, don't even get me started with the issues around recycling of plastic bags. :rolleyes

I'm not sure if people have heard of it before, but there is a pretty cool environmental-themed podcast that I listen to and highly recommend. The hosts basically take a climate change solution or a contentious environmental issue and dig into it and present their research and have a discussion. It's called How to Save a Planet.
