Nah, lol. We are too busy celebrating literally everything under the sun and cooking and eating. I think that might have been the problem in The Two Rivers, they only had two major festivals. Here, at least every weekend, someone, somewhere is celebrating something. We just decided to start having a Beignets Festival. It's a pretty laid back state, until something happens; then we show that just because we party, doesn't mean we aren't responsible and don't know how to get things done.
Hi Roheryn Sedai! I remember you too! Congrats on Being Head of Ajah. That is really cool. I think you were Accepted when I was here last, so congrats on your Raising as well, unless I'm wrong, and then, Ooops, lol.
Welcome back, Ana It is looking like Tar Valon has a returning awesome member. Enjoy the forums and fun. How many times did you read WoT? When did you join RJ's flock?
I've been reading WoT since I was twelve. It was actually the first fantasy book I had ever read. I can't even remember how many times I have read the books, though I'm on my first reread since AMoL came out.
A bunch of my friends that I did theater with were all reading it. They were older, but they thought I would love it. It took them a while to convince me, though. After I finally picked it up, they were all, "a mistake has been made" because I didn't stop bugging them about the series for years after that, wanting to talk about theories and characters. All of them moving away for college several years later were what prompted me to try to find an online community, with varying degrees of success.
Do you prefer to do Zen coloring books, or something themed? I have a few zen books but I admit that the themed ones - India, flowers, Harry Potter - attract me a bit more.
Taelinn Sedai!!!!!!!!! It's so good to see you! You were the best mentor ever!!!!!!
I like the Zen style for relaxing, but the themed ones make me nervous, so I use my copier and color those pages, so I don't mess up the cool fandom ones. I am really OCD, and making a mistake in one of those might actually make me cry, lol.
What do you like to color with? I prefer pens, myself.
I mostly use pencil crayons, since I like to test out pens before I try them and our local stationery shop that allowed you to do that closed and I had no other opportunities to go to another one that let you try them until recently. But I like the way something colored with pens looks when I'm coloring it - it seems to come to life more quickly than with pencil crayons. Usually with the pencil crayons I have to wait until I'm finished to be satisfied with what I've done, while sometimes I can be partway through something colored with pens and like the way the white spaces look and be able to leave it as is.
I started with ballpoint, but if there is something on the other side of the page, it's ruined. I mostly use gel pens now. I do have some fineliner pens, but they are only good for certain kinds of paper because they can bleed like a marker on the wrong surface.
I usually used gel pens too... I think I'm going to have to get some new ones soon! Do you have a favourite brand?
I am still writing for the TVT, but not as regularly as I used to. I was on holiday for 5 weeks in Canada and just got back a few days ago, so I missed out on writing for the last few editions.
Welcome back to Tar Valon, Analiese. I remember your name and avatar from a bunch of years ago (when I was next-to-last active :shifty), but I don't remember if we ever interacted. Good to see you here again, though. It speaks very well of Tar Valon, that so many people who disappear end up finding their way back.
