I'm working on an undergrad degree, major in Anthropology with a minor in Greek and Roman Studies. It's fun. :D

ohhhhh :D that sounds really interesting - what type of classes do you get to take for that?

All kinds, really. This term I'm in Anthropology of Children, and Archaeological Laboratory Methods and Techniques, which are both Anth courses. I'm also in The Ancient Economy, which is Greek and Roman Studies.

So yeah, not exactly "practical" topics, but they are super interesting and I love them.

omg those sound so interesting!

I like the area i'm in but I don't think it's possible to make a three hour lecture on training and development theories anything other than incredibly dry

Yeah, that does sound quite dry.
How about spending 15 minutes discussing the distribution of Athenian red-figure pottery around the Mediterranean? Prof could have easily covered it in less than five minutes, but no. I think I zoned out during that part. :look:

I'm pretty impressed that someone can spend so long talking about something so specific.... profs seem to be really good at this :look:

Agreed. This one seems better at it than most. He's also very good at getting side-tracked during lectures and ending up at least two weeks behind the syllabus, if not more.

I'm sure it's possible! Unfortunately, I don't think most management lecturers are much good at it (or they don't have the time to really try). One of my management lecturers recorded his lecture into his computer (not in front of a class) and his voice just droned in such a way that it actually made me want to call him and remind him that there are reasons to go on living.

Anyway, as that particular class didn't have an exam but was only assignment-based, and the lectures were only covering the same material that was so poorly explained in the textbook (seriously the most inconsistent and confusing textbook ever), I gave up listening to them and just fudged my way through the assessment based on the text. I don't need that kind of emotional drain from something I'm paying for. :indifferent:

That's my favourite! I especially love when the prof blames us for the fact that we're behind and then makes us suffer at the end of the semester!! :tug

:rofl yeah the management profs can be a bit... up tight about their time (treating students to gems such as my time is more important/valuable than yours :rolleyes) but I guess that comes with the territory
that sounds so frustrating though. I've had one or two profs that have been absolutely useless teachers, but luckily for those classes they stuck to the textbook and that was decent

Ellura,

Welcome back! In which subject is your undergrad degree? (G-d willing, I'll be done with my B.A. in Comparative Literature in June 2016!) However, so cool that you're from Canada, we've had a love affair since I was a child, thanks to M. L. Montgomery! <3 Take care!
