Hello! I am Daithi Hagaera and I'm rejoining The White Tower after a long hiatus. I'm looking forward to getting to know others and participate in the community. I'll wrap this up by answering the ice-breaker questions from the introductions informational post:

1. Who is your favorite character in The Wheel of Time and why?
   • I've always been partial to Thom Merrilin because of his depth and how little we know about him when we first meet him and how much we come to learn about him throughout the series.
2. How did you find TarValon.Net?
   • I was a member previously, and found it back then when I went searching for other Wheel of Time fans online, because I didn't personally know anyone who had read the books.
3. What do you do? (student? job? hobbies?)
   • I'm a training coordinator by title, but also create and run training classes. I've also dabbled in coding (C# and Java primarily)
4. Where are you from? What languages to you speak?
   • I'm from the US, Indiana originally, now California; and I speak English
5. What is your favorite book or author other than Robert Jordan and The Wheel of Time?
   • I'd say the two that spring to mind are the Chronicles of Narnia and My Side of the Mountain, because they both meant a lot to me growing up and helped stoke a joy of reading.

I started reading WoT in 2006ish, but I'm starting another read through now because it's been a bit. As for the show, I enjoyed it for what it was, but I was also a bit miffed by some of the story telling choices and casting.

I started reading back in the 1990s, when just 2 or 3 books were out. My dad read the first book then passed it on to me and my sister. I've been a fan since then!

Regarding the show, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It isn't at all what I pictured when I read the books, but overall I'm pleased by the visual interpretation. I'm also viewing the show as "different turning of the wheel" which is allowing me to enjoy it in spite of the changes to the original story. The big change to Perrin's backstory does still bother me, and of course SO MUCH of Mat's story, but everything else I'm pretty ok with. I'm interested to see where it goes from here!
