First Trailer discussion: Who was the crying man and why was he crying?

The crying man kissing a ring (?) in the trailer.. Was that just some warder who's aes sedai had died..?

Or could it be a flashback to the original Dragon? That ring and Moiraine’s voiceover hinting at “memories” suggests this could be Lews Therin Telamon!

What do you think?

I definitely think it is Lews Therin Telamon. It could have been his ring, or Ilyena's.

I wasn't crying, but I got serious goosebumps from the music. I hope this music stays throughout the series.

I don't think Lews Therin has been cast (could be wrong), so I am thinking it's one of Alanna's warders. Looks mostly like him (the one with the two axes that jumps in one of the scenes). But then she cannot die right? :scratch But it seems there is alot being told that is not exactly canon, so

To me it looks like Peter Franzén who plays Stepin. So my assumption atm is that Kerene Nagashi will die while Logain escapes/tries to escape instead of during New Spring. Changing her story instead of using another Sister that they wouldn't have a place for anyway might seem weird but Kerene was one of the most powerful Aes Sedai in a looong time, almost as powerful as Cadsuane. So they might have added her as a reference point for strength in the Power as well as upping the stakes early on?

We'll see though!

It could definitely be him too, I am not great at faces and I was comparing the two actors pretty closely. Landed on Stepin though. It makes more sense to me based on who plays which Aes Sedai/Warder as well. But yeah, we'll see.

But, I agree with everyone else that it seems likely to be Stepin.

I wrote it in the other thread, but the man kissing the ring is Finnish actor Peter Franzén cast as Stepin. Or so say the Finnish fandom of WoT but it seems the connection was made earlier already, I just didn't notice the spoiler tag.

Definitely kinda bummed it is not Lew Therin Telamon. But I am also happy it's solved.

Yeah - I don't think LTT would do that? Not sure the rings were used for that purpose back then...

But agreed - it doesn't look like LTT's actor.

Perhaps Stepin - hmmm - not sure if I remember any Warders doing that, but maybe they will show him meeting a dramatic end after his Aes Sedai's passing? Or maybe Myrelle will take his bond?
