I really wanted to help with this, Alora Gaidin, but I don't think I'll be able to manage the timing. :( With everything going on with us we're in a bit of a strapped-for-cash phase. I still love the idea and I'm so glad you're doing it.

No worries :) I plan on doing another one for December like I did last year too, hopefully I'll be healthy enough and things will have calmed down by then too

Hi I don't know if you are still collecting items but have you tried to contact places telling them your mission to see if they could donate items to you or gift cards? I think you are doing a wonderful thing and I am sure it will be appreciated by those who recieve the bags or baskets. Can you give the wishlist and link to post ideas? Are you in need of donations from us? Just some thoughts.

I've been really ill for about 3 months and only now starting to heal up so instead of doing the 100 bags we did one gift basket for a NICU baby, but we're planning on doing this twice a year, once in July for his birthday and once during the winter holiday season. As I recover more I'll make another post planning for this winter so keep a lookout for it and thanks for your thoughts :)

I'm happy to report that 24 out of 29 items have been purchased! And thanks to @Siera al'Cere I have a logo that I'll be adding to the bags so this is shaping out to be a successful thing, I am very grateful to everyone on Facebook, here, and Instagram for all the help! I can't wait to pack them and deliver them and I'll be sharing pics when that happens :)

So big things have been happening with this, I got some really helpful people sharing it around along with my dear friends and thanks to all of them we will have everything we need for the 100 giftbags! Not just that but people are wanting to start having things sent to me for me to do it again in Feb for Valentines day so looks like right now this will be relatively ongoing :yes

The ladies group that is really invested in it asked me to add the things to the current one so they are in the same link as above :) this Saturday we had a packing party and there are 62 complete bags filling my house atm  I'm waiting for a couple stragglers in the mail to finish them up and we're coordinating the setup with the hospital on dec 24 :)

I am going to be editing the first post with ongoing details of this project but in the meantime, if you would like to help out, right now the biggest thing you can do is give me a like on Facebook on my page dedicated to this project: https://www.facebook.com/davidsnightlights/ and help me to raise awareness of what I'm doing :)

Hi @Alora Sionn Gaidin - it looks like your Amazon list is still active. Is that where you need the help? Or is there another way to help out at this point in time? :love

I'm glad you asked :hug right now I have enough items to make the bags for this July, but I'm trying to work out a way to bring food for the NICU staff there as well, they tell me one shift is 100 people so I have two options.

One is a local caterer which i would love to use because she had her daughter who was born at 23 weeks in the same NICU, her daughter is now 4. These are legit meals one chicken one veggie option but the estimate she gave me was$500.

The second option is sheetz which may withe give us a really good deal or donate the food to us so obvs this will be less.

I have been debating because I def can't afford 500 by myself and I'm not sure if I can get that amount before July 12 so I was trying to see what sheetz was going to do before putting up a fundraiser:hug

@Merena Orithana my husband's work is donating 100 sandwiches for free :) so we've got food for the evening shift of the NICU staff on his birthday, and 50 gift bags for the families of the NICU delivered the same day. I believe I have everything for at least 50 bags.

The local lady that caters I am letting her put some business cards in our bags because she has a connection with that same NICU and her daughter was born at 23 weeks same as David, and she did give us a good deal at $5 per person, I just wasn't sure I'd have enough time and honestly you can't beat free when the food is good too.

I may do a mini fundraiser to do some business cards for David's Nightlights with his story on the back for the gift bags too, if anyone knows a good place to get these cards made I would love to know!
