The blade looked like the finest glass, absolutely clear; it felt like steel to his fingers, sharp as a razor.

I recently started thinking about how exactly Callandor was made (the sword portion before being turned into a sa'angreal)

We assume that Egwene created the weave known as The Flame of Tar Valon. I think this weave was known in the Age of Legends, (although by a different name). What would happen if Balefire and the weave now known as The Flame of Tar Valon were cast simultaneously on the same object (a power wrought sword) ? I believe that the two weaves would work in tandem, destroying the sword and recreating it out of crystal.

This is my belief anyway. What do you think, is it possible?

Yes - I think the most interesting part is that we never 'see' any other object that looks anything like it - even a spoon or anything. For cuendillar, we find all kinds of random things that were made cuendillar. We also see a bunch of sa-angreals but none of them have that look... :what

I wonder if it's something to do with is nature? It's "flawed" because it can only be used without harm by someone channeling saidin to someone holding saidar-- was it made before or after the Choedan Kal? As far as I'm aware, using ter'angreal to access the power of a sa'angreal wasn't used until then? So maybe at the end of the War they were getting really experimental, trying to win a sa'angreal arms race?
