building an Ajah personality quiz

Hello!

In anticipation of the launch of the show (maybe this holiday season? Maybe?), I want to have a "What Ajah Are You?" quiz built and ready to go (although may not put it up until we get at least some semblance of an explanation about Ajahs in the show). However, I would like this quiz to encompass more than just my impressions on the different Ajahs, so I'd like to propose two things:

Below I have a list of questions. Do you like the question; as in, do you think it'll generate interesting/accurate results, or should it be removed? Also, what question would *you* like to see on a personality quiz?

Second, please feel free to answer the questions below, and identify what Ajah you'd choose!

I'm on the fence about "spoiler-y" questions, or questions that require some depth of knowledge (or at least, more than is contained in EotW). You should see what I mean when you read the questions. I do also have answers in mind and what Ajah they go with, but I figured open-ended, fill-in-the-blank answers might get better ideas!

This sounds like a great idea! :bow I had a fun with the Patronus quiz on the HP website too (mine is a small owl, apparently).

I think the TV show will bring in some new fans, as well as those returning 'home' to WoT fandom (e.g. me - hehe).

However, I have no idea what book Ajah I would be. Gr-ite-bl-own - or, put together in paint form, it would end up Brown . So apparently I need this quiz to decide!

What trait do you respect most in coworkers? Supporting and respecting others, even in spite of outside pressure to do otherwise.
What trait do you want most in a friend? Kindness/understanding
What quality do you like most about yourself? Dependability

You find a wounded bird. You: I call my Warder to take care of it. I don't know what to do with creatures that small. (lol - happened to me just last month - my dogs have a thing for baby birds :facepalm why puppies, why?)
You are confronted by a Whitecloak. You: Try to convince him that there are better methods to use/groups to join to right social wrongs (maybe over an ale?)
You discover a man who can channel. You: befriend him. It's not his fault he can channel (and it's pretty cool!).
You find a ter'angreal. You decide to: work with another Aes Sedai to conduct systematic tests of the object and its properties

What is your favorite subject in school? Psychology / Science
What type of club would you like to join? (that i'm not already a part of? is this just my favorite club?) Would like to join: board game club, already a part of: horseback riding 'club'

So after doing this quiz - maybe I would be Brown, maybe White?

One of the things that was confusing was not knowing whether the question referred to the RL or the book world. It was confusing to jump back and forth - for example - finding a wounded bird. In the RL? Or in the book world?
I think it would be neat to change a couple of the questions from RL-focus to book world focus (place and drink). I think the series will probably go over a few important places, enough for newbies to choose from:
Borderlands (edge of civilization)
Two Rivers (farm)
Caemlyn (or other moderately sized city)
Tar Valon (biggest/best city)
White Tower (? maybe this should be an option, as too many folks would choose this?)
Stedding (forest)
Tremalking (island) (though I'm not sure we will meet any of the Sea Folk this early)

I always love quizzes like this, especially if it's not obvious what outcome each choice is leading towards. (for example, answers like "I would fight them!" for every Green response)

I'm still working on making a quiz, and have come up with what I think are good "personality" traits that the book Ajahs might have (largely based on the WoT Wiki articles). I wanted to run this by y'all and see if you had any thoughts. I'm hoping to have seven personality traits for each Ajah, so I can write the questions/answers/descriptions, but some (like Yellow) need to be fleshed out in a way that keeps them distinctive from the other Ajahs.

Here's what I have so far:

Red Ajah qualities:

• wants a few close friends over loose groups or connections
• singularly focused
• concerned with public safety // the rules
  
• self-conscious
• value tactics and skill over strength and talent
• independent

Green Ajah qualities:

• well-prepared, ready for anything
• romantic
• brave
• direct
• fastidious
• pathos over logos

Gray Ajah qualities:

• detail-oriented and careful
• diplomatic, mediator
• deliberate
• critical
• problem-solver

Brown Ajah qualities:

• thoughtful
• perceptive and intuitive
• studious
• curious
• encyclopedic, scientific

Yellow Ajah qualities:

• confident and self-assured
• sympathetic, empathetic, humane
• adaptable and flexible
• nurturing

Blue Ajah qualities

• self-sacrificing
• deeply concerned with justice, fairness, sense of right and wrong
• not bound by rules, but by their conscience
• willingness to get involved, get their hands dirty
• loyal
• intimidating

White Ajah qualities:

• philosophical, questioning
• ascetic, self-denying
• logical, reasonable
• serene, tranquil, calm
• calculating
• quiet

I think Red would also be self-sacrificing - as long as you consider very early Reds that culled their own family members to ensure public safety.

I tried this quiz....well, that was an unexpected result....White(?!)....I guess time does mellow.

I'm not really sure the book reds have those qualities you list for reds, the red ajah is by far the largest ajah in the books and the close friends and independency I would say are more a thing that's developed in online communities with ajahs as few choose to become red.

My rationalization for red was based on how in the books you're required to break off friendships with non-Reds, and pretty much keep to themselves-- even putting their Ajah head on the same ranking as the Amyrlin. Honestly it was tough trying to find a real-world comparison for Reds that's true to the books if i didn't want it to be "the police ajah."

But it is a bit the police ajah, or defence ajah, might be better. Even here on this site we used to be the police ajah back in the days when all groups had "jobs".

My personal favorite way of thinking of them is similar to the Nuclear Deproliferation units at US State and Defense departments.
